NATIONAL AWARDS SELECTION

The FDDCMSA National Awards trials will be held in 3 provinces over the next couple of weeks.
Detailed programs of the different weekends to follow.

WESTERN CAPE:
Date: 28 & 29 October 2023
Venue: Curro Academy Sandown

GAUTENG / FREE STATE / MPUMALANGA / LIMPOPO:

Date: 04 & 05 November 2023
Venue: Hoërskool Eldoraigne, Christopher Road, Eldoraigne, Pretoria

KWAZULU-NATAL:
Date: 12 November 2023
Venue: TBC

The National Selection Panel will be travelling to each province to conduct the trials process in
selection of National Team 2024.

1. ELIGIBILITY FOR SELECTION: ATHLETES

All athletes that have been awarded Provincial Awards under the auspices of FDDCMSA are
eligible to attend the FDDCMSA National Awards Trials Process.

The successful athletes will receive their FDDCMSA National Awards upon their selection
and completion of required activities as set out by the FDDCMSA National Executive.

Athletes must attend trials in the division for which they have received Provincial Awards i.e.:

• Junior Provincial Award recipients must attend FDDCMSA Junior National Awards
Trials
• Senior Provincial Award recipients must attend FDDCMSA Senior National Awards
Trials
• Tertiary Provincial Award recipients must attend FDDCMSA Tertiary National Awards
Trials

2. TRIALS PROCESS

• FDDCMSA National Award Trials will be held over 2 Days

• Costs for all participants have been equalized
• Payments are non–refundable
• All participating athletes will be given a number to wear throughout the trials process
• A selection panel made up of Executive Members and national team coaches will
evaluate the athletes
• All participants will be dressed uniformly for assessments
• Participating athletes will be assessed on a scale of YES / MAYBE YES / MAYBE /
MAYBE NO / NO

3. ASSESMENT

All athletes will be assessed on their skill in the following respective categories namely:
• Unprepared Baton & Pom Display
• Unprepared Mace Display
• Bleep Test: Juniors to complete up to end of Level 4 (Start of Level 5)
Seniors/ Tertiary to complete up to end of Level 5 (Start of Level 6)
• Interview

4. NATIONAL AWARDS ANNOUNCEMENT

The recipients of FDDCMSA National Awards will be announced after the complete trials
process has been finalized for all respective provinces.

The results will be circulated by no later than 13 November 2023.

5. KIT LIST
• Comfortable Practice clothes - Plain White T-shirt, Black shorts/Track pants/jazz
pants with comfortable training shoes
• Hat or Sunblock
• Mace
• Single Baton
• X1 set of Poms
• A6 Size photo

6. APPLICATION FORM AND PAYMENTS

The attached application forms to be completed and sent back to coaches@fddcmsa.com by

no later than Saturday 21 October 2023 (WESTERN CAPE).
Gauteng/Free State/Limpopo/Mpumalanga/KZN to send completed application forms back by
no later than Sunday 29 October 2023.

7. COST EQUALISED

R350 per athlete – Includes Lunch per day and T-shirt. Athletes must pack enough
water/energade etc. for the trials.
