UNIT 1 CONTROL SYSTEM MODELLING 9+3
Open loop, Closed loop, Feedback, Feed forward control theory, Electrical and Mechanical Transfer
function models, Block diagram models, Signal Flow Graph models.
UNIT2 TIME AND FREQUENCY RESPONSE ANALYSIS 9+3
Transient response, Steady state response, Ist order and Second order system response, Unit impulse
and step input, Time domain specifications, Steady state error, Frequency domain specifications,
Frequency response plot, Bode Plot, Polar plot.
UNIT 3 STABILITY ANALISIS 9+3
Concepts of Stability, Relative Stability, BIBO Stability, Routh’s Stability criterion, Root locus
concepts, Nyquist Stability criterion, Need of controllers –P, PI & PID controllers.
UNIT 4 FUNDAMENTALS OF MEASUREMENTS 9+3

Measurement systems, Static and dynamic characteristics, units and standards of


measurements, error: - accuracy and precision, types, statistical analysis, moving coil,
moving iron meters,Digital multimeters, Bridge measurements, Maxwell, Hay, Schering,
Andersonand Wien bridge.
UNIT 5 BASIC ELECTRONIC MEASUREMENTS 9+3
Electronic multimeters, Cathode ray oscilloscopes – block schematic – applications –
special oscilloscopes: – delayed time base oscilloscopes, analog and digital storage
oscilloscope, Function generators – pulse and square wave generators, RF signal generators –
Sweep generators –Network analyzer- spectrum analyzer :- digital spectrum analyzer, Vector
NetworkAnalyzer.
