2. (i) The given mass is 0.83 g with an unbalanced force of 5.8 N. Find the acceleration in
cm/ s .

(ii) The given mass is 8 slug with an unbalanced force of 3.9 N. Find the acceleration in
dyne.
(iii) An applied force of 21 lb f acts on a given block with 46 in/min. Compute the
unknown mass in gram(s).
3. A force acts on a 5 kg mass and reduces its velocity from 7 to 3 m/s in 2 sec. Find the
force in N.
4. A 1K kg automobile is speeding at 90 km/hr. Find the force of the brakes required to stop
it in 70 m on the level road.
5. A bale of weight of 200 N hangs at the end of the rope. Find the acceleration of the bale
if the tension in the rope is (a) 200 N (b) 150 N (c) 300 N.
6. A car of mass 3200 kg down a mine shaft with an acceleration of 1.5 m/s 2. Find the
tension in the cable during start.
7. A 50 kg block rests on a horizontal floor. The coefficient of kinetic friction between the
block and the floor is 0.25. A horizontal force of 180 N acts on the block for 3 sec. Find
the velocity of the block at the end of 3 sec.
