Suavel (100% acrylic; 50 g = 366 m) in col 01001
White.
Size 2.5 mm crochet hook.
White satin band, 2.5 m long x 1 cm wide.
Pattern A: Worked back and forth in rows
according to chart A. Beg each row with ch 3 (count
as 1 dc). Beg chart pat with sts before pat rep, work
12-st pat rep (increases to 16 sts) throughout,
end with sts after pat rep. Work rows 1 – 5 once,
then repeat rows 2 – 5 throughout.
Pattern B: Worked back and forth in rows
according to chart B. Beg each row with ch 3
(count as 1 dc). Row 3 shown in grey at bottom
of chart shows chart row 3 of pat A.
Beg chart pat with sts before pat rep, work 6-st
pat rep throughout, end with sts after pat rep.
Repeat rows 1 – 4 throughout.

Gauge: 46 sts and 16 rows = 10 x 10 cm in pat A;
26 sts and 15 rows = 10 x 10 cm in pat B.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR GOWN
Back and front:
Worked in one piece back and forth in rows to
armholes. Ch 183 + ch 3 for turning chain (count
as 1 dc) and work in pat A according to chart A,
working pat rep 14 times across each row.
When body measures 45 cm, after having
worked a chart row 3, work in pat B according
to chart B, working 9 dc across each pat rep of
pat A on first row = 135 dc. Work pat rep of pat
B 21 times across each row.
Work in pat B for a total of 6 rows, ending with
a chart row 2.
Mark center 63 sts; 36 sts each remain for left
and right half of back.
Next, work across first 36 sts only for left half
of back and shape armhole as foll: Work 30 sts
in pat, dc2tog, leave remaining 4 sts unworked
= 31 sts.
Next row: Dc2tog, work in pat to end = 30 sts.
Next row: Work to last 2 sts, dc2tog = 29 dc.
Next 11 rows: Work even in pat.
Next row (chart row 1): Shape neck: Skip first 10
sts, working 10 sl sts instead, dc2tog, work to end
= 18 dc.
Next row: Work first 16 sts, dc2tog = 17 sts.
Fasten off.
Next, rejoin yarn at right edge of front and
shape armholes as foll: Dc2tog at beg and end
of next row = 61 dc.
Next row: Work even.
Next 2 rows: Work in pat and dc2tog at beg and
end of row = 57 dc.
Next 5 rows: Work even in pat.
Next row (chart row 1): Shape neck for left side
of front: Work first 19 sts, dc2tog = 20 sts.
Next row: Dc2tog, work to end = 19 dc.
Next row: Work to last 2 sts, dc2tog = 18 sts.
Next row: Dc2tog, work to end = 17 sts.
Next 3 rows: Work even in pat.
Fasten off.
Rejoin yarn and work neck shaping for right
side of front same as for left side, reversing all
shaping. Fasten off.

Rejoin yarn at right edge of right half of back
and work same as for left half of back, reversing
all shaping.
Fasten off.
Bottom lace border
Work according to chart C. Rejoin yarn. Chart
row 1: Work 1 dc in each chain of foundation
row of pat A = 183 dc, then work chart rows
3 – 9 once.
Beg chart pat with sts before pat rep, work 16-st
pat rep (increases to 24 sts) 10 times across each
row, end with sts after pat rep. Fasten off.
Sleeves
Ch 55. Working first dc in 10th ch from hook,
work according to chart D. Beg chart pat with
sts before pat rep, work 12-st pat rep (increases
to 16 sts) twice across each row, end with sts
after pat rep.
Work rows 1 – 17 once, then work rows 14 – 17
twice, then work rows 26 – 33 once. Fasten off.
Finishing
Sew shoulder seams. Set in sleeves. Sew sleeve
seams.
Work 2 rnds according to chart E around each
sleeve edge. Work 48 dc on chart rnd 1, then
work rnd 2, following light grey line with arrows.
Work 6-st pat rep 8 times around. Fasten off.
Work 2 rnds according to chart E around neck
edge, back slit and bottom hem. Fasten off.
Thread approx. 2 m of the satin band through
last row of pat A and tie into a bow at back.
Instructions for bonnet
First, work center section as foll: Ch 13 + ch 3 for
turning chain (count as 1 dc) and work according
to chart F. Beg chart pat with sts before pat rep,
work 6-st pat repeat once, end with sts after pat
rep. Repeat rows 1 – 4 throughout and increase
as foll: Inc 1 st (dc2 in one st) at beg and end
of 4th row, then every other row 6 times = 27
sts. Integrate increased sts into pattern F. Work 7
rows even, then fasten off.
Next, for left side section, ch 37. Working first dc
in 10th ch from hook, work according to chart
G. Work rows 1 – 8 once, then work rows 5 –
8 once, then work rows 13 – 19 once. Fasten
off. Work right side section same as for left side
section, reversing all shaping. Fasten off.
Sew center section to side sections with cast-on
edges matching. Work 1 row dc along this edge.
Next, work 4 rows according to chart H along
front edge, working 77 dc on chart row 1, then
working 8-st pat rep 9 times across each row.
Next, work 2 rnds according to chart E around
entire edge of bonnet, then fasten off.
