Introduction

Afghanistan is located in Central Asia it is a landlocked (almost or entirely surrounded by land)

country. The current population of Afghanistan is 42,239,854 million, their capital city is Kabul. The
climate in Afghanistan is normally a dry continental climate, with cold, chilly, rainy winters and hot,
sunny, bright summers. The climate is affecting the Afghanistan people because of the increased
frequency of droughts, which are causing hunger and distress, it is also putting people out of work in a
nation whose people survive off agriculture.
Role of women

The key role for women in Afghanistan is to be homemakers and mothers. Afghanistan women are
expected to marry and have sons, which increases their position and power in the family. They also
have a few traditional work opportunities, such as tailoring, and entrepreneurship (since the fall of the
Taliban). In Afghanistan, the income of an average woman is less than 16% than an average man.
Traditional clothing in Afghanistan is normally loose fitting, women typically wear a dress with loose
fitting pants that goes down to the ankles. A burqa is worn to cover the face and body, they must wear
this because society and cultural force them to wear this.

Children

Children in Afghanistan cannot go to school owing conflict, poverty, unfairness against girls, a lack of
female teachers, poor school facilities, and insecurities. Children might have to leave school to find
work because of their family’s extreme poverty. The Taliban does not let most kids have an education
because of their traditions. Education teaches us to think for ourselves and helps us decide what is
good for us, it opens our minds, but the Taliban wants to control the minds of people this is why they
don’t let kids have an education.

Asylum seekers
An asylum seeker is a person that leaves their country, due to governmental reasons or because of
war, an asylum seeker who runs away to another country hopes that the government their will protect
them and let them stay there. Someone could want to flee Afghanistan to seek home in another
country due to fear that the Taliban would and will seize more territory which could lead to civil war
along national lines. A few challenges an asylum seeker may face along their journey consists of poor
conditions in refugee camps, war with local people, and a bit of difficulty finding employment.
