Agrarian Reform

With the completely unresolved issues going on with agriculture, agrarian reform
stands as a bridge to meet the needs of the economy and the common people. It is to
contribute to economic progress and aid the living needs of people by distributing land
areas among farmers and farmworkers. They are conditioned to continue the production
of goods while benefiting from living in a certain area, as granted by the reform law.
However, there is a case for needing more updates on the reform law due to concerns
arising over time, such as land ownership transfer issues. That's why I think that the
Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) was created to serve as a fair point
for farmers to completely own the land. It also improves the pace of giving land to them
by hastening its delivery or distribution process so that beneficiaries can deem it right
away. While the extension program law, or the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform
Program Extension with Reform (CARPER), enhances the CARP law, whose objective
is to continue the quality land distribution process, it extends its line to check the status
and share all the hectares as mandated. This is to ensure a fair distribution system.

This kind of change that the government commits to does justice to landless
farmers. Imagine the discrimination and power dominance that have been the main
struggles that landless farmers have faced since then. Even though the law says they
have the right, there are just really powerful ones to claim those rights that suppress
development in poverty status and the economy. Thanks to the reform programs
enacted by the government, it eases and supports the lives of people. I consider the
farmers and farmworkers to be the foundation of agriculture; without them, there's no
agriculture. This intensifies and forces the government to urgently update reforms to
continue the life of agriculture in the country. As time goes by, advancement is heading
towards new situational changes, which will affect the growth of agriculture. Therefore,
the role of the government is to adapt to the changes and keep them intact in every
decision they make for existing and incoming issues to be resolved. This is to prevent
the system from being left behind by time.
Other than the government, I believe we, the youth, have the power to resolve
these problems. As we access education, let's take the chance to appreciate farmers,
agriculture, and its importance in our lives and economies. As many look down on
farming or agriculture, let's stand to campaign and promote the course of agriculture.
Apart from that, we are consumers on our land; therefore, we can help the light of
agriculture by purchasing goods from local stores where products are from our main
lands (agricultural area). This continues to increase production and gain for themselves
and their families.
