STUDY verse 1 Timothy 4:12-16

Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in
conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. 13 Till I come, give attendance to
reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. 14 Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was
given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery. 15
Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may
appear to all. 16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for
in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

[NIV]Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for
the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. 13 Until I come, devote
yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching. 14 Do not
neglect your gift, which was given you through prophecy when the body of elders laid
their hands on you. 15 Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that
everyone may see your progress. 16 Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in
them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.
Strive to be an example
If someone were to follow you around for a week, what evidence
would they see that you are striving to follow Jesus Christ?
2 Timothy 3:1-13
This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters,
proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3
Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent,
fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady,
highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a
form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn
away. 6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead
captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, 7
Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast
learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom
thou hast learned them; 15 And that from a child thou
hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make
thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ
Jesus. 16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and
is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for
instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God
may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good
works.
