upon it being by my master Abul Mawahib al-Shadhili al-Tunici
up to his saying "and in the number of the perfect and
blessed
words of our Lord." which is followed by the addendum of
Sheikh Muhammad ibn Hasan Hamza Dhafir al-Madani (Allah
sanctify their inmost souls). It is called in its entirety al-Wadhifa
[The Work]. Our teacher (Allah sanctify his secret) mentions
that whoever recites it regularly is protected from magick by
the leave of Allah Most High. It is:

Your light that encompasses all lights; and Your guide who
guides by You unto You; and the leader of the cavalcade of Your
worlds to You; and Your highest sentinel, standing for You
before You. No one arrives, except to his exacting presence, and
no one who is bewildered

besides Him nonexistent. "Verily He who has enjoined the Koran
upon you shall bring you back to a return" in every approach
and retreat, in every rising and sitting. "0 our Lord, give us
mercy from You, and grant us rectitude in our affair," and make
us of those who have been
guided by You, and then guided.
Until not a look do we cast
except upon You, nor desire do we
have except for You. And make us
travel the ascending paths of

die: Avert from us the harm, You have power over all things
(said 3 times, in each of which "Turn aside the harm from us,
You have power over all things" is said thrice). In the nameof
Allah, with whose name nothing can cause harm in the earth or
sky, and He is the All-hearing
and Al1-knowing (3). "Alla
Sutfices us and is the best reliance" (3). There is no movement
or
strength except through Allah, the High,

is in your hearts or conceal it, Allah will take you to account for
it, forgiving whomever He wills, and punishing whomever He
wills; and Allah has power over all things. The Messenger
believes in what has been revealed to him from his Lord, as do
the believers: Each believes in Allah, His angels, His Books, and
His messengers: We draw no distinction between any of His

messengers; And they say: We hear and obey; Your forgiveness,
