INTRODUCTION

Business is an organization where people work together. As many people would

say, “Nobody knows our businesses as well as we do.” In establishing a business, we

should know how to handle it and expect the entire possible outcome. The success of our

business depends on many aspects. To come up with unique products is just one factor.

We need to include in the list most qualities of the entrepreneurs like disciplined,

competitive, and strong determination. These qualities will help us in facing and

surpassing the reality that many challenges will come along the way.

Eating is one of life’s pleasure and pride as well as cooking and serving good

food to others. For this reason we decided to establish a food business and named it as

“EAT tse TARA!”. The proposed name comes from the word etcetera (etc.). We come up

with this name because we will have different kinds of food to offer. The word “TARA”

on our name also connotes an invitation for customers to come and eat with us. This

business will be put up in General Marcos Street, Barangay 9, Cuenca Batangas. This is

equally owned and will be managed by Grade 12 ABM students of Viva Senior High

School, namely Lewis Alfred Tenorio, Bal David, Jay Jay Helterbrand, Michael Daiz,

klay Thomson, Steph Curry, Megan Young, Nathalie Heart, Lovie Poe, Julia Barreto, and

Kathryn Bernardo.

Eat tse Tara will offer products that were designed to meet the customer needs

and expectations. First is "Habapatata." This is made from combination of mashed

potatoes and sweet potatoes formed like French fries but is much longer and it will be

deep fried. Second is called "Jellynut", it is a mix of gelatin and young coconut or buko.

To make it more unique and special, we will add milk, strawberry and chocolate syrup.

Our next product is called "BettyCorn" that is made of heart-shaped corned beef patty

and deep fried to make it crispy and crunchy. We will also have what we will call

“Cheekiron", a Filipino snack made by frying dried noodles called mikiron. To make it

unique, we will offer this in different flavors like cheese, barbeque and sour cream.

Lastly, we will have "Whitey Chick” to be served with rice. This is made from cut

chicken fillet and cooked with milk sauce to add moistness and flavour.

The optimal location for establishing this business will be at the covered court of

Viva Senior High School since our target customers will be the students, faculty and staff

of the school. Rest assured that the products that we will offer are safe and clean and we

will prepare and cook them during business hours.

The owners decided to contribute equally the amount of Php500 with a total of

Php5,500 for the initial capital. Other resources to be used will be contributed by the

owners as well.

Starting a food business is not that easy. We will determine first the things that

cost money in order to know how much will be our contribution to start the business. We

need money for the ingredients of our products, transportation, utilities and other

expenses. The second thing is we need to know how we can pass the customers’

satisfaction. In order to have a good start in our business, we will have a promo and we

will give the fast service that the customers always want. Besides, we will use social

media to update our customers about our business and also for the advertising. We will

start our business, Eat Tse Tara, with the capital amounting to Php5,500.00. Each

member will give Php500.00. Even if our contribution is not a big amount, we are

confident that we will still gain profit.

Our stall will be open from 9:00am-1:00pm. We will open it during student’s

break time. Our primary goal is to serve our customers in a good and friendly manner.

We also want to have a profit so we will have a marketing strategy. We make a plan to

determine our target market as well as the best products to sell. Eat Tse Tara will use

mark-up pricing to maintain the profit of the business.

This business plan contains also detailed information about how much are we

going to produce, how much sales we intend to achieve and our projected income. This

can be found in our Production plan and Financial Plan.

CHAPTER I

MARKET AND INDUSTRY ANALYSIS

This analysis presents information regarding the market in which we will be

operating, including the segmentation, targeting and positioning of our business as well

as the SWOT analysis.

We have done market research about the brand awareness and loyalty tracking of

the customers. We customize and tailored fit our market intelligence services depending

on our customer's wants and business objectives.

1.1 Trends in the Industry

Building a business is hard, but conceptualizing the type of business we are going

to build is harder. Many Filipino people are food lover. Most of us are food lover that is

why we decided to build a food business.

Food never runs out of trend, but the preferences of the customers change also as

there are many new products being introduced. The taste preferences of the customesr are

very important in choosing what product we are going to sell. However, the business has

the power to influence or change the preferences of the consumers.

7
LOGO OF SCHOOL
NAME OF SCHOOL
Senior High School Community
Accountancy, Business and Management
In conceptualizing the products, we take into consideration the food trends. Like

for example, as a customer, we know that almost everyone loves fries. Many small

businesses commonly start their business in selling fries. Just like in Cuenca, there is a

business called “Burger Place” where they are selling burger with some fries. There is

also Captain Nemo, Insta Fries and other small stalls located in different areas in Cuenca.

This is a factor that influences us to come up with product similar to fries and we call it

“Habapatata”.

Customers, particularly of our age, prefer almost all types of food: sweet, salty

and spicy. It is for this reason that we come up with other products like our Jellynut

which is the combination of ‘buko’ and ‘gulaman’ and Cheekiron which is a flavored

Mikiron.

Eat tse Tara is located at what is arguably one of the best locations to establish a

business inside the school where our primary customers are the students. In this kind of

business, having new products with a unique idea will be a big help to have more

customers. Customers particularly the students want to try products with new taste and

new look to satisfy them.

1.2 Marketing STP

This process allows a business owner and marketing consultants or employees to

formulate a marketing strategy that ties company, brand and product benefits to specific

customer market segments.

Demographic

Eat tse Tara is for all gender. The age of the high school students in Cuenca that

is in range of 12 years old up to 20 years old. This is also open for teachers and staff of

schools in Cuenca.

Psychographic

The product is affordable so everyone can afford it. Students will buy and they

can easily buy without thinking twice because of low price.

Figure 1.2.1 Market Segmenting (Demographic and Psychographics)

In this graph, we will notice that NAME OF SCHOOL is the biggest because

when it comes in buying foods, students are not always thinking about the price, they just

focus on the taste of the product. Besides, it is accessible for them to go and buy in our

stall since our business is located inside NAME OF SCHOOL While students in

Kalayaan Christian School can afford to buy our product but the location of our business

stall is not accessible for them. In Cuenca National High School, most of the students are

just being practical. Even the product is affordable, some will choose to save money.

Fermin La Rosa National High School does not have a Senior High School and it will not

also be accessible for them if we make them as our target customer. As a result, the main

customers of Eat Tse Tara are the students in NAME OF SCHOOL That is why NAME

OF SCHOOL has the biggest graph.

1.2.2 Targeting

Based on the result of the segmentation, we decided to establish our business in

NAME OF SCHOOL and we will focus with all students, faculty and staffs as our target

market. In this regard, we will make sure that our products are not only with high quality

but also we will give emphasis on the affordability of the prices.

1.2.3 Market Positioning

Eat tse Tara would like to be recognized by the market, particularly the students,

as an establishment that offers high quality but affordable products.

3. Little competition

Few competitors mean more chances that customers will

buy in our stall.

1.3.4 Threats

1. Weather condition

Eat Tse Tara has a product which is the Jellynut, a cold

drink. The sales of this product might decrease because it will not

suit with the cold weather.

2. Customers’ attitude

People have different attitude. As a salesperson you should

have a friendly and good attitude to have a regular customer.

3. Availability of ingredients

It’s hard to make a product with lack of ingredients, so the

ingredients that you should use are always available.

CHAPTER IV

OPERATIONAL PLAN

This chapter is a highly detailed plan that provides a clear picture of how the team

or a member will contribute to the achievement of our business goals. This includes the

stall layout, sales process and also the evaluation of suppliers.

Figure 4.2.1 Sales Process

Since our business is fast food, cooking is the first in sales process. The head

chefs together with the sous chef and line cooks are going to prepare and cook the food.

After cooking the food, the head server with her assistant is going to put the product in

the stall. Then the cashier will get the order from the customers who are in the left side of

the stall. The customer will pay first before claiming the order in the right side of the

stall. After claiming the food, the customer can go and eat the food.

4.3 Evaluation of Suppliers

Suppliers are our key partners in the business. We choose our supplier not only

based on their popularity. In choosing, we considered the quality of products and services

they provide. Most of our suppliers are operating their business for the longest time.

Fely & Fedie Store will be our supplier of rice, they will deliver us 2 sack of

Maharlika rice every month and it costs Php 4,800.00. They assure us that they can

deliver on time. Fely & Fedie Store is our primary supplier of rice, if there will be a

problem with the delivery; we still have Vic & Marlyn Store as our supplier.

The supplier of our chicken is Joan Meat shop, located inside the Cuenca Public

Market. We choose Joan to be our supplier because she proves us that we can trust her

when it comes to business. She assures that she will give us fresh products. In case that

Joan Meat shop will fail in delivering the ordered supplies on time, we will contact the

Emmanuel Cooperative immediately.

Our supplier for the ingredients such as potato, cheese, mayonnaise, etc., will be

Lourdes General Merchandize. We notice that a lot of people trust the products and

services that they give. So we decided to make them as the supplier of our ingredients. If

there will be a problem in negotiation with Lourdes General Merchandize, we still have a

second option which is the Baby’s Store. We will consider them as our supplier because

we know that they can also provide us with good quality products.

Below is Carter’s 10 C’s which will help us to analyze and evaluate our suppliers.

This evaluation will serve as our basis for choosing them as our supplier.

MARKETING PLAN

This chapter includes the "Seven Ps Formula" that we will use to continually

evaluate and reevaluate our business activities. These seven are: product, price, place,

promotion, people, process, physical evidence. As products, markets, customers and

needs change rapidly, we will continually revisit these 7Ps to make sure we're on track

and achieving the maximum results possible for us in today's marketplace.
