NARRATIVE REPORT

A seminar is a group meeting led by an expert that focuses on a specific topic. It typically takes place
over the course of a few days and involves cooperative discussion. Last August 3-5,2022, we, Tibig
Elementary School teachers had a webinar on RACAS Regional Virtual Workshop on Assessment Driven
Intervention that aims to inform teachers about various classroom interventions to improve their teaching
practices during this pandemic.
The first day of the seminar begins at exactly 8:00 o’clock in the morning. It started with a short
opening program. After this, the emcee introduces the first discussant which is Dr. Carlo Magno. He
discussed and elaborated on “How to Conduct Assessment, Intervention and Recovery Plan. He stresses the
importance of having a well-prepared recovery plan to be successful in the intervention that we are going to
apply.
The next day Dr. Marilyn U. Balagtas started a session with a bang. Her topic is about Integrative
Performance-Based Assessment using SOLO Framework and Portfolio Assessment for Learners. She vividly
explains the five stages of SOLO which are Pre-structural, uni structural, multiscriptual, Relational level, and
extended Abstract. Based on her there is one idea to respond to, asked questions and you have a lot to say.
She emphasized the fullness of knowledge and ideas but cannot harmonize or explain them.
On the last day of the webinar, Dr. Carlo Magno discussed Approaches to Assessment Appropriate to
Learner's Readiness and Needs. He points out that Assessment is centered on the intervention as the result
need to show the particular competency not being met by the learners. All the competencies covered in the
evaluation should be the major type when presenting the results rather than proficiency level. All the
competencies included in the assessment must be the major category when presenting the results rather
than proficiency levels. The webinar end with the awarding of certificates of the resource speakers.
In this time of new normal, it is very to adopt in the present situation but by means of these
educational webinars, we slowly cope with the demand of the education. By attending this webinar, I have
learned a lot and refresh what are the prior knowledge that I can use in teaching.
