On Motherhood

When in heart emotions encompassed, An instant when the eyes had castTiny and fragile a miracle has been, Graced by loves forces has deemed.. Behold a sunshines smile had caught, Life's closely threaded by love has brought What language define by life attained, A new beginning, another hope remains.

For : Angela 1

Song

I wish I could be a minstrel I would make songs of love for thee, That such a song of any day I yearn that you would sing to me

Then would I in my soul confess With every word a yearning prayer, And ask to God thy love to bless To guard and guide thee everywhere

Could I lie beside thee now? And whisper to thy curtained eyes, In dreams tell thee my loves vow As to the moon the night wind sighs

Then, would thine ears the message learn Of love so tenderly deep to discern? And thou from your dreams returnAnd enfold this hear that mourns. 2

Shelter

Your love is my shelter And its what keeps me holding on Knowing that when I need you Youre always there to hold my hand And say we could make it together Just the two of us Even when against the oddsAnd the times are tough, There will always be each other And the love we share Where we gather the strength to go on, A shelter to nurse the pain andAnd heal our wounds. For: LEW 3

Goodbye

If my heart could allow disguise Then my darling I would lie I can smile and say I am happy And pretend that you dont hurt meI would tell myself youre sorry Despite the lies you told me I can say that youre forgiven Even when you leave me bleeding, You could still say you love meEven when you are leaving, But my heart could not disguise I could see through your lies My heart could no longer pretend Ill tell myself this is where we end. 4

As I Lay Me Down In My Gloom

As I lay me down in my gloom Tonights peace-is miles from dawn, Deep recesses from oblivion cast Spent tears dried- agony do last Words of love once brought bliss In stillness mocks with emptiness Slumbering still trapped in painFrom darkest corners, unrestrained Broken spirit sought fancies to complete Through its furtive ways indiscreetShadows screams in silence inside Fleetingly it touches-and cries respite Till sorrows pain, drowned eagerlyDuty deemed acceptance of destiny Misery bleeds-joy but here awhile Love depletes, and I with forgiveness reconcile. 5

I Am Not afraid Of Death

I am not afraid of death! Certain as I held in its gripLifes path may struggle unceasingly Yet death rides its claim readily.

I am not afraid of death! A long journey-or a short trip, Bring me agony or despairBut I shall stare at death without fear! 6

My Darkest Moment

Each minute away that lasts As sorrow melts a lovers trustReflects dark thoughts binds in me When my safe haven was wrecked away-

Little angel faces that brought cheer, Now offers dread and crippling fear Once convey happinessBitterly caused me distress

Searching for comfort but in vain, While quite shadows fester painFreedom do free-choices chains Laid me back in prison once again. 7

Dirge for Love

Gone was the day swallowed by night As tears well down my eyesI sought to find solace in dreams But solace sought wrought deeper pains Love turn to ashes, hate in its stead I slept with misery and despair in my bed The love sown, planted with deceit Empty words of love I have reaped Verses for love I once wrote, But love was untrue, words made it worst My love you use and abuse I bid you goodbye with a curse! 8

Untitled

My love you took the parts of a whole Living in parts, I could not find my soul Who in all the pieces that I gave And the love I buried in you have lived

I hide my heart with love past and done And regret few things when aloneMy heart was dead, in pieces you resurrect, You gain my love anew, in part you take

In pieces you collect, the whole you see Now all the part you get and the whole of me. 9

To have You Back

To have you back I have no right The right was mine until you cried A love masked with lies and disguiseTrue love dies, when its unwise Good intention flies when will is bent Shamed is love held in contempt. 10

Now You Have To go Now you have to go and I must mourn Trap me in darkness all alone Shadow that hell in me which I am To suffer constantly when love is done Watch me in tears, no sooner when youre away Out of myself, there should be no more day When I told you the yearnings of my heart But paled and broken when you depart It is because Im so blind that I cant see How the fault was mine, blame it on me When pride will break us, and what we feel Have we left it undone in our will? Since fate let me suffer indeed However I love Im left to bleed When the heart has chose the better one Alone in pain need I better run? In so much more I could In so many words I said In words I made no more left to persuade Take therefore all in this, when I love so true As I never look for less or more from you. 11

Personal Favorites

From: Matthew Arnold

This heart I know To be long loved was never framed But something in its depth doth glow, To strange, too restless, too untamed 12

FAREWELL

I too have felt the load I bore In a too strong emotions sway I too have wished no woman more This starting feverish heart away

I too have longed for trenchant force A will like a dividing spear Have praised the unscrupulous course Which knows no doubt, which feels no fear

In the world I learnt, what there Thou too, will surely one day prove That will, that energy though rare Are yet far, far less that love 13

From: Arthur Hugh Clough

When panting sighs the bosom fill And hand by chance united thrill At once with one delicious pain The pulses and the nerves of twain; When eyes that erst could meet with ease Do seek, yet seeking slightly shun Ecstatic conscious unisonThe sure beginnings say be these Preclusive to the strain of love Which angels sing in heaven above? 14

Must still believe, for still we hope That in the world of larger scope What here is faithfully begun Well be completed, yet undone My child, we still must think, when we That ampler life together see Some true results will yet appear Of what we are together here. 15
