2. Greetings
Good afternoon class.
Good afternoon ma’am.
How’s your day going? Yes, Jonadee?
It’s going just fine ma’am.
Thank you, how about you, Aira? How are you feeling
today?
I’m feeling great ma’am.
Wow, it’s nice to hear that everybody is having a good
day.
3. Checking of Attendance
Alright, let me first check your attendance, is there any
absent today?
None ma’am.
Wow, very good. It is nice to know that everyone is
willing to participate and take part in today’s discussion.

B. Review
Before we start with our next lesson, let me first ask,
who among you here can still remember the topic that
was discussed last meeting?

Yes, Lemuel?
Ma’am, our discussion was about the story of the
Prodigal Son.
Alright, thank you Lemuel that is correct. We have
discussed the story or the parable, ‘The Prodigal Son’.
April, kindly give me your takeaways from the last
lesson.
Ma’am, since the discussion tackled about faith, one of
the lessons that I learned is that God’s love is
unconditional. Even though we make mistakes, He still
loves and celebrates us.
Very good, it is nice to know that you have learned
something from the lesson.

C. Motivation
Before we start with the discussion, we will first have a

box and everyone has to pick a piece of paper. Now,
kindly open the paper you picked, that will be your group
number. Kindly sit with your groupmates, group 1 will sit
here, group two will be on this side and the group 3 will
occupy this place. Please form your seats into a circle.

Now, I will give you an envelope with a picture of a

part of the house which you think is the best place to put
them. It’s up to you on what basis are you going to use
in deciding. Am I clear?
Take note that you only have two minutes to decide and Yes, ma’am.

THE POWER OF LOVE
 At its core, Shakespeare’s famous tragedy is a story
about the all-consuming power of love. There are
several love themes in the play, but the strongest is
how powerful love can be.

let you watch an eight-minute summary of the story
which highlights the most important points of the play. Answers may vary.

Did you understand the flow of the story?

Let us now move on to the themes of the literary piece.

Aira, kindly read the first one.
Ma’am I think, the fact that even though both of their
families do not want them to be together they still fought
for their love literally until their last breath.

Response may vary.

Thank you, Aira. How did the drama portray or showed
the power of love, Angeline?

Very good. Another answer?

We first see the depths of the power of love when

Romeo laments being out of favor of Rosaline. His love
and his heartbreak at her disaffection. The only force
strong enough to break him off this spell is his new
found love for Juliet. The decisions they make is in
service of their love for each other. Making the literary

to be together.

Alright, thank you. So, in the drama Romeo and Juliet, in
what part can we notice or feel the power of hatred.
Gerlie.

Very good, another idea?

In the play, the pair spend their time pursuing their love
for each other and avoiding the hatred between their
families. But ultimately, that hatred, combined with
Romeo and Juliet’s love leads to their untimely deaths. Response may vary.
On the last part, both the families are forced to love
each other due to the wretchedness of their hatred. Juliet’s loyalty to her family tests her love for Romeo.
She was torn between her obligation as the daughter of
