1- PURPOSE
The purpose of method statement is to explain the scope of work for each activity and on this
method statement we are elaborating live electrical testing. Live testing is then performed on
the circuits once the results of the dead tests have been recorded as satisfactory.
It aims to ensure the integrity of electrical appliances and cables in sites and the safety of
personnel who use them,
Electrical live testing can be dangers and should only be carried out by the qualified
professional team with the relevant equipment.
2- SCOPE OF WORK
The scope of this document is to describe the methodology for live electrical testing in order to ensure
That our electrical installations are safe in any failure and not harmful for human. (Always never
perform any work on live circuit either testing because it is very dangers). This method statement is
aimed at people who manage or carry out electrical testing, and gives guidance on controlling risks
and preventing or reducing danger arising from these activities. All provisions of the specifications
and other contract documents shall continue to apply. Where there is a conflict between this method
statement and the contract documents, the contract documents shall prevail and the construction
manager will have final authority

7 – PREPERATION
First identify the circuit where you perform test and check all rout according to drawing.
Mark on results sheets “Supply to distribution board is from” and make sure over current device is
active.
Complete a risk assessment and then take all control measure before test.
Never do testing alone on live equipment or installations. A Safety Observer must be present
to observe the testing. Most of the technical staff are competent persons and are trained.
Always use suitable equipment for test
Consider the need for Personal Protective Equipment, including rubber gloves, suitable
clothing and rubber isolating mat when testing with equipment and switchboards, and only
use insulated tools and fiberglass ladders labeled.
Never leave any electrical panel, switchboard or wiring open or without the protection of a
physical barrier
Do not wear any metallic jewellery, rings etc. while performing electrical work
Do the work very carefully - haste can be hazardous

Assume all exposed conductors are live
Are aware of the voltage to earth of all exposed conductors
To prevent tripping RCD in the circuit always use NO TRIP position for loop measurement.
Connect all three leads to the L,PE, and N(Red, green and blue) terminal to the tester.
6|P age
Before test use the zero adapters to zero the test leads or the main cord. We can see zero screen as
below
Press and release TEST button ant wait for the test to complete. The upper display shoes loop impedance.
This test will take several second to complete. If the main is disconnected while the test is active the test
automatically terminates.

Test report format is attached.
9.2 - Precautions
According to the safety regulations and Quantity Control Procedures following conditions are provided.
All equipment and tools are checked for they are free of errors and fully operational
All equipment and tools with defects are to be removed from the working area
All defects with electric and electrical equipment will be corrected

Potential Impact Definition
People (P)
0 No Injury No injury or damage to health
1 Slight Injury Not detrimental to individual employability or to the performance of
present work
2 Minor Injury Detrimental to the performance of present work, such as curtailment of
activities or some days absence to recover fully up to a maximum of
one week.
3 Major Injury Leading to permanent partial disablement or unfitness to work or
detrimental to performance of work over an extended period, such as
long-term absence
4 Single Fatality Single fatality or victim with permanent total disablement or unfitness
for work. Also includes the possibility of multiple fatalities (maximum of
3) in close succession due to the incident, e.g. explosion
5 Multiple Fatalities May include four fatalities in close succession due to the incident, or
multiple fatalities (four or more) each at different points and/or with
different activities
Assets (A)
0 No Damage No damage to equipment
1 Slight Damage No disruption to process. Minimum cost of repair.
2 Minor Damage Possible brief disruption to the process. Isolation of equipment for
repair.
3 Localized Damage Construction site/building partly down. Process can (possibly) be
restarted.
4 Major Damage Partial loss of construction site/building. Construction site/building shut
down.
5 Extensive Damage Total loss of construction site/building. Extensive damage.
Environment/Society-cultural (E)
0 No Effect No financial consequences. No environmental risk
1 Slight Effect Negligible financial consequences. Local environmental damage within
the fence and within systems.
2 Minor effect Contamination. Damage sufficiently large to affect the environment.
Single exceedance of statutory or prescribed criteria. Single complaint.
No permanent effect on the environment.
3 Localized Effect Limited loss of discharges of known toxicity. Repeated exceed of
statutory or prescribed limit and beyond fence/neighborhood.
4 Major Effect Severe environmental damage. SE required to take extensive
measures to restore the contaminated environment to its original state.
Extended exceedance of statutory or prescribed limits.
5 Massive effect Persistent severe environmental damage or severe nuisance
extending over a large area. In terms of commercial or
recreational use or nature conservancy, a major economic loss for
SE. Constant high exceedance of statutory or prescribed limit.
Reputation (R)
0 No Impact No public awareness
1 Slight impact Public awareness of the incident may exist. There is no public concern.
2 Limited effect Some local public concern. Some complaints received. Slight media
and/or local political attention with potentially negative aspects for SE
operations.
3 Considerable Impact
Regional public concern. Numerous complaints. Extensive negative
attention in local media. Slight national media and/or local/
regional/national policies with potentially restrictive measures and/or
impact on grant of licenses. Mobilization of action groups.
4 National Impact National public concern. Continuing complaints. Extensive negative
attention in the national media and/or regional/national policies with
potentially restrictive measures and/or impact on grant of licenses.
Mobilization of action groups.
