INVESTITURE
CEREMONY
The investiture went without a
hitch due to the hard work of all
the people who were a part of it:
the MCs, the performers, and all
the teachers there. These people
presented their part beautifully,
but Daisy ma’am and Prerna
ma’am’s words were truly
insightful: when they spoke about
responsibility and leadership, it
felt like it didn’t just apply to the
congress, but to the whole of
middle school.

It was a beautiful event, and with

your help, the congress can do
amazing thing’s this year!
A NEW CAMPUS...
A school is made up of the people in it, not its bricks. We have all
moved to this campus as the HIXS family. We know that the entire
building changed and it's a huge change to get accustomed to, but
we are all together in it.
On September 5th, we had a grand ceremony to celebrate the
launch of this new campus. The students gave marvelous
performances along with our mentors who shared their remarks
on the opening of this new campus as part of our celebration of
this significant occasion
A few parents were also invited to join us in this celebration
of our school's accomplishments.
The hindustani vocals team gave a performance, with a
beautiful rendition of Saraswati Vandana, and some eighth-
graders even unveiled the Coffee Table Magazine: the
performance was about the expedition they took last year
about this campus, and it was a wonderful performance.
Everyone who had the chance
to attend the event expressed
enthusiasm at how well it
We all learnt that regardless
of the campus, it is we, the
students, teacher and staff
who give it its soul, and that’s
what really matters.

CLEANEST CLASS OF THE MONTH

‘You can start changing the world for the better daily, no matter how small the step
you have taken is’- Nelson Mandela
You must begin somewhere if you want to bring about change, whether it is your
home, your school, or even a very small unit like your classroom. Therefore, your
sustainability representatives have thought up the concept of a "cleanest class of the
month". Each time, the class which wins will be highlighted in the newsletter and may
win a small prize… Any members from the student congress will come to your class at
the end of a random day and judge you based on a special criteria. We plan to do this
for each classroom at least 6-8 times a month so that we have fair and just results.
We’ll make this a little easier for you by sharing the criteria that you will be judges
based on. Here it is:
1. Neatness ( max score: 20 points): Arrangement of desks and chairs, Proper storage
of supplies and materials
2. Hygiene (max score: 20 points): Cleanliness of floors, windows and surfaces and
Proper disposal of trash
What are you waiting for? It starts from next month, (October) so help us make a
better, cleaner community for ourselves.
Thank you!
Hindi Diwas
During the week of September 7th to 14th, we observed
Hindi Diwas, and all the credit is due to the Hindi
facilitators and the students. We dressed up as our favorite
Hindi or Bollywood writers or characters, we made
teacher’s day cards in the language: but we can all agree
that the assembly was definitely entertaining.

From the anchors, to

the deep poems, to the
hilarious but moral
‘nukkad natak’ it was
definitely a lot of fun:
we learnt a lot,. Daisy
ma’am’s speech,
however, really helped
us understand the
purpose of Hindi
Diwas, and made us
look back on why Hindi
is such a beautiful
language: why it’s a
language used around
the world.

MIDDLE SCHOOL CLUBS
The Inkwell club is about designing the perfect magazine that
actually targets what the typical middle-schooler would enjoy.
Till now, we have come up with a topic for the newsletter, ideas
for the articles, and some of our members have started working
on their contributions.

The Elysium club is all about hand on experiences, it’s about

experimenting with things that you usually can’t… so far in our
club we’ve introduced a new skill, a new technique and a new
practice, members have experimented with hydro dipping, they
have gone for an artistic nature walk and we’ve held a lesson on
the basics of brush calligraphy.

Circuitron is all about making robots, simple circuits and

teaching students how to work with simple electronics. Till now
we have taught the students in our club how to create a simple
circuit using a buzzer, how to use a potentiometer and how to
solder. In the future we plan to give our students the
opportunity to use the skills they have learnt to build and
design their own robots and simple circuits.

If you didn‘t know, a new club was also just started in the
school. This club is the “Green Dream“ club. They strive to
implement creative sustainability goals in our school to pave
the way for a better, brighter and definitely greener future! We
will be giving updates regarding this club starting next month!

The club Itihaas is about the history of Humans and how

it affects us in the present. Our club puts aside all the
boring ways of learning so students can express most of
their thoughts and give proper reasoning to what they
think. This helps them better understand the topic and
gets everyone to participate making history a fun
subject! As of now the students have learned about
Human evolution and why humans are the way they are.

The Writer's Room is a club with like minded people who

all share a love for writing. It is a place to have fun
through a range of games and activities while subtly
improving your writing too. So far we have been able to
start writing our first books, written poems, played fun
games like Heads Up and Wordsearches too!
MIDDLE SCHOOL CLUBS...
Awaazika is a music club for people with an interest or
potential in music, it encourages all of us to learn more about
ourselves and about music. In our first session, we heard
everyone play their choice of instrument or sing to learn about
our club members. Then, we divided all the members according
to their interests and what they knew how to play and played
the song "Believer" together. We even have a choir!! Moving
forward, we will be conducting more activities, learn about
musicians, and maybe even hold an expert talk.

The Pixel club is all about clicking, capturing and absorbing

everything around us. We are a community that is trying to
together explore, learn and understand to see the world
through a new lens. So far we have tried to discuss and share
camera equipment, shot techniques as just the beginning, since
the club is very new. As we go along we would ideally like to
further strengthen our knowledge about basics of
photography/ basics of using a camera and working on our
knowledge and skill.

The Pageturners club focuses on creating a community of

fellow book lovers and partakes in several book-related
activities. Till now we have done literary puzzles and games, a
book tasting event as well as a debate related to the book
"Harry Potter."

Our club, The Flavour Lab, is not your ordinary club; it's a sizzling
playground for middle school foodies to spice up their culinary skills,
get creative with ingredients, and cook up a storm of deliciousness. So
far, we have made many combinations of food and fitness and our
students have made masterpieces! We have many more culinary
adventures to come!!

The Momentum Club is about learning different sports through fun

activities while gaining abilities such as being more agile, teamwork
and much more. What we have done in this club as of now is build
teamwork as well as explore new sports.

Tamasha is all about bringing out the inner thespian in you. Whether it
be in acting, directing, or even the writing aspect of it- we will always
make sure the artist in you is satisfied. Up till now, we have done
activities for improvisation, script writing, body language and have
also taught the students about integral aspects of theater that one
should be familiar with, like mime
