the following guidelines and websites will help you to complete your application in an
effective way.

1. The first step is to go to the Faculty of Graduate Studies website:

Information on how to apply and where to send in your application, together

with minimum requirements, and pertinent documents needed, is provided at the

Information on methods of payment of application fee is given on the application

form. Any further questions on method of payment should be directed to:

2. The next step is to go to our Department website. This gives information on the
Department, our academic staff and our research facilities. Once you have
chosen your research area you can complete the form and fill in the name of
academic staff whom you wish to be your preferred supervisor. If you do not
have any preference, leave the space blank.

3. Once you submit your application to our Faculty of Graduate Studies you can
then contact your preferred supervisor. Please note that ALL applications will be
reviewed on line by all of our staff. If you contact our academic staff via email
you may choose to send them your CV. Please give them ample time to respond
as we get a large number of applications.

4. The availability of research assistantship depends on individual faculty member

and their level of research funding. Your preferred supervisor will notify you if
he/she can provide you with any funding. You can apply for teaching
assistantship upon your arrival here at the University.

5. Application deadlines are six months prior to the admission date for
international students. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

6. Your application will remain active for six months once its been put on web by
our Faculty of Graduate Studies. If there is no position available, your file will be
closed after this period of time and you will be officially notified by our Faculty of
Graduate Studies.
