The 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup is the 9th Women's World Cup organized by FIFA.

It will be
held in Australia and New Zealand from July 20 to August 20, 2023. It is the first women's World
Cup co-organized by two hosts(Official Documents, n.d.).

In order to be able to host the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup, the host country will definitely
build and improve relevant stadiums and infrastructure. Holding this competition at the same
time can better stimulate local residents' interest in football and promote and promote the
development of women's sports. It also showcases the top women's football competition from
around the world.
New Zealand Minister for Sport and Recreation Grant Robertson said the matches, which have
been watched by more than 700,000 people, demonstrate the power of sport to bring people
together and are a turning point for women's football(RNZ News, 2023). Adelaide/Tartanya is one
of the host cities, with more than 870,000 fans flocking to the city's fan site, the FIFA Fan Festival
at Festival Plaza and the temporary live venue at The Drive, formerly Come watch the month-long
competition(Racing, 2023).

During the competition, there is a huge increase in demand from industries such as hotels and
catering. They provide accommodation and dining services to team members, spectators, and
tourists from all over the world. There are also various other services. During the game in
Auckland, New Zealand, the local government provided many considerate services to fans and
spectators who came to watch the game. The World Cup matches are broadcast live on the big
screen at Queen's Pier to help fans enjoy entertainment as well as local culture and food; at the
same time, fans can use all trains and buses for free 4 hours before the start of the
game(OurAuckland, n.d.). In addition, Booking.com has signed with the organizers of the 2023
FIFA Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand as a sponsor, and can provide more than
60,000 rooms in Australia and New Zealand for fans coming to watch the games(Booking.com

Leisure and travel are inseparable. During the Women's World Cup, it attracts a large number of

World Cup. Australia's Minister of Trade and Tourism Don Farrell also said that this Women's

Even some businesses have even launched relevant travel packages for fans, and developed
travel routes based on local attractions outside of game time(FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023
Travel Packages, n.d.). These activities can better attract tourists' interest in exploring the city,
relax and promote the development of local tourism.
