My name is Alison Gerry. I just graduated from Dakota State University. I am applying to be
considered as elementary teacher candidate in your school district. I am majored in both
Elementary Education as well as Special Education. I graduated with three minors: English as a
New Language, K-8 Reading and Educational Technology. I look forward to my first year
teaching and hope that you will consider me for the job.

I have been well prepared throughout my years at DSU. My experience, knowledge, and
abundance of skills will guide me to become an outstanding teacher in your district. I am
confident in my abilities and have no doubt that I would succeed. I have many strengths
including organization, time-management, leadership, and more. My classroom management
skills are of great use. I have had time to hone them in while working in a preschool classroom. I
have gained a copious amount of knowledge through my classes at DSU. They have prepared me
to become a teacher that will encourage young minds to be passionate about learning. I will help
guide them on their journey to become lifelong learners. I am very interested in working for your
district. I would love to be involved in extracurricular activities that allow students to expand on
the skills and talents that make them unique.
