SUBJECT: Up-to-Date Sources for Cleaning Robot Design

As we embark on the ambitious project of designing a cleaning robot specialized for smooth
surfaces, it is imperative that we are all aligned with the latest advancements and findings in the
field. Therefore, I have compiled a list of three crucial articles that I recommend you familiarize
yourselves with to ensure our product is at the cutting edge of technology: For our upcoming Commented [BW1]: Too much words. Could be
project on a specialized cleaning robot, please review the following key articles: distrac ng.

[1] Fan, S., Liang, W., Wang, G., Zhang, Y., & Cao, S. (2022). A novel water-free cleaning robot
for dust removal from distributed photovoltaic (PV) in water-scarce areas. Solar Energy, 226, 15-
28. https://doi.org/10.1016/j.solener.2022.06.024
Relevance: This research introduces a water-free cleaning mechanism using a rolling brush and
negative pressure, crucial for efficiency in arid settings. A must-read for understanding
environmentally friendly cleaning methods. The use of negative pressure techniques offers Commented [BW2]: A er a re-read, I think the biggest
promising solutions for robots navigating slippery surfaces. point for reading this ar cle is to familiarize the way the
robot moves on a slippery surface without falling off.
[2] Lee, Y-S., Kim, S-H., Gil, M-S., Lee, S-H., Kang, M-S., Jang, S-H., ... & Han, C-S. (2017).
The study on the integrated control system for curtain wall building façade cleaning robot.
Automation in Construction, 82, 15-26. https://doi.org/10.1016/j.autcon.2017.12.030
Relevance: Vital for understanding advanced robotic control mechanisms. A deep dive into
façade cleaning robot controls, highlighting a three-stage approach for safety and efficiency.
Essential for integrating advanced control systems into our robot.
[3] Bisht, R. S., Pathak, P. M., & Panigrahi, S. K. (2021). Design and development of a glass
façade cleaning robot. Mechanism and Machine Theory, 156, 104-118.

Relevance: Focuses on dynamic modeling and adhesion mechanics. Offers insights on trajectory
and performance optimization, vital for our robot's effectiveness on smooth surfaces.
Please review these sources before our next meeting. Please ensure you are well-acquainted with Commented [BW3]: Too simple, less formal
these materials prior to our meeting.
