The beginning.

When kids reach the age of eight, they start to develop the external characteristics of their second
gender. This “puberty” can last until the child turns fourteen; and by then, they should know to
which breed they belong: Alphas, Betas or Omegas.

This is influenced by their parent’s breed: the child of an alpha-beta relationship has 60% of
probabilities of becoming an alpha, and 40% of becoming a beta; the child of an omega-beta
relationship has 70% of probabilities of becoming omega, 30% of becoming beta; and in a alpha-
omega couple, the probabilities rise to an 80% of becoming an alpha, resulting in very few cases of
alpha-omega children becoming omegas.

After birth, the child undergoes a blood test to check which gene is the strongest in their DNA, but
those results can change in the years of the body getting ready for their first mating cycle.

----------------------------

Isagi Yoichi was born out of the love between Iyo and Issei Isagi, an omega-beta marriage. He was
also born into wealth, both of their parents owning one of the biggest car companies in Japan. His
whole life was secured even before his birth, destined to be part of Japan’s elite.

He spent his days playing with his Nana and the grumpy cats she had around her backyard. Being
the only grandson, he was spoiled, getting everything he laid his eyes upon. His parents would pick
him up after work, Yoichi being the happiest kid on earth when they finally embraced him in their
arms after a long day .

But one day his Nana got sick, so he went to visit her at the hospital, crying his eyes out thinking
his Nana would die, even though his mom told him it wasn’t a big deal. His grandma laughed at
his dramatic grandson, and reassured him that “She was not going anywhere. Not now, and not
until she witnessed Yoichi’s marriage.”

Yoichi kept visiting her, talking about his mom’s cookies, how his dad let him get in the passenger
seat of his new car and how awesome it was, the new cat that appeared in her backyard, his first
time going to school.

She got discharged after a few months, and Yoichi was happy again.
----------------------------

Yoichi first met Itoshi Rin when he was four, a year older than the latter.

Their parents started working together as an alliance between their two companies.

Knowing the kids were close in age, Itoshi Kiyoko, Rin’s mother, suggested a meeting between the
two toddlers, with her oldest son, Sae, and their nanny taking care of them.

Blue eyes peeked from behind her mother’s skirt at a teal-eyed boy sitting in the middle of a
colorful room. Yoichi thought the boy was pretty, like the cute cats his Nana used to have.

Said boy was accompanied by a tall, alpha boy (at least that’s what his mother told him). They had
the same eye-color, the only difference being their hair, Rin’s was a very dark green, and Sae’s
was a reddish-brown.

“Hi, Yoichi. I’m Sae, and this is my little brother, Rin. Do you want to play with us?” said the
older one, a polite smile adorning his attractive features. He looked like one of those magazine
models.

Yoichi was too embarrassed to answer him, so he just hid behind his mother, again. His mom
turned to him, “Baby, my prince, I’ll be going with Kiyoko and your father now. You’ll stay here
for a few hours. Is that okay?” She said while patting his son’s head lovingly.

“Can’t I go with you?”, he didn’t want his mother to leave him here, he didn’t even know these
people.

“No baby, I’m sorry. This’ll be a very important meeting, and Nana’s not able to take care of you
today. Would you be a good boy for me and stay here until your father and I come back?”

With a serious tone, Yoichi said “Okay, mama. I’ll be good”, a really stern look in his eyes.

Giggling at his son’s sudden determination, she said “Thank you so much, my prince. I love you”,
grabbing his chin and kissing him all over his face.

Giggling, too, Yoichi said “Love you too, mama”, and with that, he stepped into the room and
grabbed the hand that Sae was offering to him.

“What kind of games do you like to play, Yoichi?” Sae asked, taking a seat beside his brother on
the mat.

“I like playing football!” Yoichi said, showing a grin with two missing teeth.

“That’s great, then. I love football! This little one here likes it, too” he referred to Rin, who hasn’t
uttered a word since Yoichi got here.

But then, Rin locked eyes with him, a shiver running down the blue-eyed boy’s spine, “I only play
football with nii-chan. No one else”.

“Rin! That’s no way of talking to your new friend!” Sae scolded his brother.

Frowning, Rin went back to the truck he was playing with before Yoichi interrupted them,
muttering “He’s not my friend” under his breath. Yoichi felt a lump in his throat at the rejection.
Rin was not cute anymore.

“Forgive him,” Sae apologized, “ he’s not used to new people”.

Looking at Rin, Yoichi said with all the energy he could muster up, “I don’t want to be your friend,
either!” Yoichi looked away, trying to hide the tears welling up in his eyes; but Sae noticed them.

“Okay, let’s calm down. Would you like to eat cookies, Yoichi?” The older changed the subject
expecting to cut off the heavy atmosphere. He then noticed how Yoichi’s mood changed in an
instant, his eyes sparkling, and how Rin was peeking from behind his bangs, not hiding very well
his interest at the mention of sweets.

With Sae intervening in each one of their arguments throughout the evening, they ended up
watching a football match while eating cookies, ignorants of the fact that a very special bond was
about to be created.

Hi! I know it was a short chapter, I didn't know it was so difficult to write long
chapters!! But I like the results. I'd liked to clarify that maybe I'll be taking my time
with the new chapters, or maybe not, but I want this to be perfect. Thank you for
reading, and have a good day ^^!!
Chapter 2
Chapter Summary

Yoichi's best friend is here! But, who is he?

And Rin made some friends too?!

Chapter Notes

See the end of the chapter for notes

Two years passed by, and when Yoichi reached the age of six, he started to understand that
people’s second gender was a big deal, somehow.

As a child, he understood that his mom had a time on the month in which she would lock herself up
in her room for three days and demand cuddles form both her son and husband (which he gladly
gave her, never denying cuddles to his mom), and that sometimes he would have to spend the three
days at his Nana’s house or the Itoshi’s household, to “give his parents some privacy” as his
grandma would say.

But why? He didn’t know! He tried asking his mother about this, but she just said “When you grow
up, I’ll tell you all about this. But until then, you’ll have to wait!”.

He was mad, he doesn’t like waiting.

But apart from that, second gender wasn’t a big deal in his life.

Yes, he had an alpha friend, Sae, who he had to stop seeing for an entire week every three months
and just play with Rin alone (even though Rin still had something against him), but he was still
Sae, the cold but also caring “big brother” that spent some of his evenings with him. Nothing more,
nothing less.

--------------------------------

Until, starting his new life as a six year-old toddler, kids at his school started differentiating alphas
and omegas. But Yoichi didn’t understand, they haven’t even presented yet!

The ones who were “alphas” started mocking the “omegas”, Yoichi included, not letting them play
sports, not letting Yoichi play football! Because for them, “being an omega” was something that
makes it impossible for you to play their games. The only exception was his best friend, Bachira
Meguru, who would stick his tongue out at them before throwing the nearest object at the head of
the nearest kid.

Bachira Meguru, or just Bacchan, was an eccentric, joyful and very energetic kid who had self-
proclaimed a year ago to be Yoichi’s best friend after discovering that Yoichi also liked football.
He started looking for Yoichi at the beginning of every day at school, inviting him to his house,
and sticking alongside him at every given opportunity. They were glued to their hips, and Bacchan
eventually met the Itoshi’s.

He was amazed at Sae’s football skills, turning to look at Yoichi with an angry look, puffing his
cheeks out and stomping his feet, declaring that it was bad for him to have been hiding Sae from
him for almost a year (unbeknown to him that it was Rin who Yoichi was hiding, really).

(You can’t blame him. Rin was only now letting Yoichi play with him. And even though he
wouldn’t admit it, his grumpy friend was still cute. But he could smile a little more! He looked
prettier with his eyes squinted and a little grin on his face)

Yoichi, trying to understand why his classmates did that, asked his mom why it was “a bad thing to
be an omega”, incapable of doing so because the greatest, prettiest and most amazing person in the
whole world was his mom, an omega!

His mom has replied “They think we’re weak; but we’re not. All the things we have to endure in
life shape us to be the strongest, we control everything without them knowing it. Don’t let them
think they’re above you, because in reality, it’s the opposite”.

And ever since that day, Yoichi started anticipating, wishing, craving, for the day of his
presentation, luckily, as an omega.

He wanted to be as awesome as his mom.

---------------------------------

At the age of seven, Yoichi was delighted because Rin, his grumpy friend (and self-proclaimed
rival), was starting elementary school, at his school!

When he first saw the younger boy with his new uniform all ironed and neat, he had to stop
himself from cooing at him saying how cute he looked, because then Rin would've killed him right
on the spot.

Their parents dropped them together at the entry of the establishment, wishing them a good day
and taking off. But after crossing the gates, Rin turned to Yoichi, frowning and with a severe look
in his eyes, “Don’t you dare come near me. We’re not friends here”, and walked away, leaving a
hurt but also angry Yoichi behind.

He stomped past Bachira, who was watching the interaction between his two friends from afar. As
Rin didn’t even look his way, Bachira walked towards Yoichi, who was still mumbling something
about “Rin being a dumbass” in his place.

“Why was Rin-chan mad?” he asked his friend.

“He told me to stay away from him since we’re not friends here. As if I wanted to be near him!”
He declared with all the anger he had in him.

After hearing that, a mischievous grin appeared on Meguru’s face, having an idea. “What if we
stick to him the whole day? Just to bother him”.

Yoichi, still hurt at the younger’s words and wanting revenge, accepted his best friend’s idea.
Rin was furious, to say the least, at the end of his first day at school.

Rin met Karasu Obito and Otoya Eita, two loud and annoying kids (Rin’s words) who were in his
grade and decided that it was very fun to bother him. When Bachira and Yoichi met them, they
started joking alongside Karasu, Otoya joining them.

“Rin-chan doesn’t want us here, right Yoichi?” He said while pouting.

“Yeah, he told us to stay away from him” Yoichi joined his pouting friend.

“Stop it, you look dumb” frowning, Rin started walking away. Karasu chased after him, a smirk
adorning his chubby face.

“Are these your friends, Rin-chan?” Otoya appeared behind him, startling Rin.

“No! They’re just some dumb rats who like to follow me and my brother around. Especially
Yoichi, that dumb omega” he was getting very angry now.

At this, Yoichi felt his blood boiling, a shocked gasp escaping his mouth. “How dare you call me
that?!” He pounced on Rin and pushed him to the ground.

“Get off!” Rin pushed him to the side and straddled him, pinning him underneath his body. Yoichi
then noticed the difference in strength between the two. “I’m just being honest!”

“I am not dumb!” he started squirming to free his arm, seeing how difficult it was.

“Yes, you are! You are a dumb, ugly and annoying omega!”

“Hey! That’s enough, Rin-chan! Get off of him!” Bachira then reacted and helped his friend, who
was already on the verge of tears.

A teacher came running and scolded the hell out of them. When their parents arrived, they got
more scolded. Sae laughed at them later that evening, saying how dumb they were, but telling Rin
not to say those things to Yoichi, because they weren’t true.

The next week, Yoichi ignored Rin but still went to his house to play football with Sae.

Rin deserved it; even though Yoichi felt a sting in his heart seeing the teal-eyed boy watching them
play from the kitchen window.

But oh how Yoichi wished for Rin to treat him like a friend!

Chapter 3
Chapter Summary

More friends!!

Chapter Notes

See the end of the chapter for notes

At the age of eight, Yoichi and Bachira met Chigiri Hyoma and Kunigami Rensuke, the two new
kids of their grade. Both of them also liked football, so it wasn’t long for the four of them to hang
out after school at Bachira’s house and play until it was late and they were sweating and tired
enough to sleep for a week.

Chigiri ran like a panther, he was a moddy kid, and was always bantering with Kunigami, who
declared that he wanted to become a hero of football , surpassing everyone that crossed his path.
But he was also a very gentle and caring friend, always demanding his friends to play nice .

Chigiri recently moved to Tokyo because of his mother's company demanding her more time at
that headquarters, so she brought along her youngest son. While Kunigami was coming back to
Japan after spending a year in South Korea with his sisters and mom.

One night, waiting for Meguru’s mom to make dinner, the four of them saw an advertisement of a
new shampoo on the TV, a girl showing her silk-like hair waving. Chigiri commented that he
wanted to grow his hair, and Kunigami said that he would like that because he’ll be able to braid it.

“Do you know how to braid hair, Ren-chan?!” Asked Bachira with stars in his eyes.

Blushing at the sudden attention, Kunigami admitted “My older sister used to make me watch how
our nanny braided her hair, so in the future I could braid my little sister’s hair myself. It’s not very
difficult, you know?”

Amazed at the new information, Bachira sat himself in front of his friend, his back facing
Kunigami, “Make me little braids, would you? Please!” His voice getting whiny to urge his friend.

Kunigami, a little (very) flustered, said “I guess I could try…”, and started braiding his hair.

Yoichi and Hyoma were mesmerized by Rensuke’s finger movements. He worked like a real
hairdresser, and after a few minutes of the two boys staring at his work, Kunigami said “Give me
some hair bands, or something that works like one, please”. Yoichi went to Yu’s art studio,
Meguru’s mom, asking her for hair bands.

“Are you trying to learn how to comb hair?” she asked with a confused but amused expression,
looking for them.

“No, not us. Ren-chan is showing us what he learned about braiding his sister’s hair. He’s really
good! You should ask him for a new hairstyle!” Yoichi suggested, making Yu giggle.

“I guess I should give it a try, I was getting bored of this ponytail” she said, grabbing a box full of
hair things. “But, dinner first. Tell those three other little monsters to come to eat after Rensuke’s
done, please” she asked, handing him the little plastic hair bands.

“Thank you, Yu-san. I’ll tell them” Yoichi grabbed them and started running towards the living
room, seeing how Hyoma had to help holding Meguru’s already braided hair.

“Hurry and give me the bands, my fingers hurt” said Chigiri, while Kunigami was almost finishing
another braid.

“I’m coming, don’t be impatient” he sat down next to him, handing the bands and helping him tie
the braids. “Oh, Yu-san said that dinner’s ready. We should hurry up and finish this or we’ll end up
eating cold soup”.

“I once ate cold soup and ended up throwing up for a week straight”, Bachira said while
remembering how bad he felt.

“That’s gross, Bachira. Now I’m not hungry anymore”, Chigiri had a disgusted expression.

“Don’t act like you’ve never thrown up before” Rensuke then looked Chigiri in the eyes.

“I didn’t say that. I just don’t want to imagine Bachira throwing up soup while I’m eating soup ”
Chigiri said, lifting an eyebrow.

“Why are you fighting over Bachira throwing up?” Yoichi intervened, laughing. It was always like
that.

Kunigami then grabbed another hair band and tied the last braid, saying “Finally. It’s done”, with a
proud smile on his face looking at his work.

Bachira jumped to his feet and bolted towards the big mirror in the room, staring in awe at the little
braids adorning his hair. “It looks awesome, Ren-chan, thank you so much!”, he said while
jumping on Kunigami, who almost lost balance and pushed Chigiri to the ground who was standing
next to him.

“I’m gonna’ kill the two of you if you don’t calm down”, said Chigiri with a deep frown in his face.
Bachira started laughing.

“Guys, I know Bacchan’s braids are pretty and you are excited” Yoichi said while helping Chigiri
getting up, “but I’m really hungry and I really don’t want to eat cold soup and end up throwing up
for a whole week like Bacchan. So please, can we go now?”

The three other kids laughed, but started walking towards the kitchen, now smelling the tasty
aroma in the air. The first one to enter the room was Meguru, who excitedly demanded his mom to
look at his awesome and pretty braids. “They look so good, ‘Guru! Ren-chan, could you braid my
hair, too?” she asked the orange-haired kid.

Blushing, like always , Kunigami replied “Of course, Yu-san”. He then sat next to Hyoma on the
table.

“Okay kids, now it’s time to eat”, Bachira sat down while his mom was bringing the food. “Are
you hungry?” she asked.
“Yes, Yu-san. Please give me food!” said Yoichi like a desperate person. He was always hungry,
especially if it was food prepared at Bacchan’s house.

When they finished eating, Kunigami braided Yu-san’s hair. Yoichi just watched the whole time
because his hair was not long enough to get braided, and frowning he promised to grow his hair a
little bit more.

After finishing with her hair, Kunigami looked at Chigiri, silently asking him if he wanted a braid
too. Hyoma just sat himself in front of Rensuke, muttering “Don’t be long”.

When Kunigami touched Chigiri’s hair for the first time since he met him, he knew his theory
about Chigiri’s hair being soft as silk was right. He started to massage Hyoma’s head, and when
the red-head sighed, Rensuke realized what he just did and a deep pink colored his face.

Ten minutes passed and Chigiri’s braid was done. Bachira started clapping and jumping, making
Rensuke feel even more embarrassed. “It’s not a big deal, so calm down”, and before Bachira
could counter his friend’s words, the doorbell rang, making everyone know that their meeting was
coming to an end.

“Guys, Yoichi’s mom is here!” They heard Yu-san’s voice coming from outside the room.

“I’ll sleep with these on and tomorrow I’ll wear them to school” said Bachira, making the other
three laugh and sigh at his usual nonsense.

But, Bachira wasn’t joking. He actually went to school the next day with his braids still on.

Chapter 4
Chapter Summary

Yoichi has an idea.

Chapter Notes

See the end of the chapter for notes

At the end of the school year, Chigiri presented as an alpha.

The week prior, Yoichi and Kunigami were waiting for the other two to come outside of school,
but when Hyoma arrived, he looked way more moody than usual. They just looked at each other
with a knowing look, not asking him why the sour mood.

But, when Bachira arrived, as late as usual, he stared for a few seconds at Chigiri, and when Isagi
noticed this, he tried to stop the question coming out of his friend’s mouth, but he couldn’t.

“Why are you sulking, Hyo-chan?”

If looks could kill, Kunigami and Isagi would’ve witnessed how one of his friends murdered the
other one.

“I’m not sulking , dumbass”.

“Then what’s up with you?” asked Meguru with a smirk adorning his features, knowing damn well
that Chigiri was getting angry.

“I just don’t feel like dealing with anyone today, especially you. So please, could you shut up?
Thank you” Chigiri started walking towards their classroom, but he should’ve known better than
letting Bachira know about his moodiness.

“Bachira, I think he’s serious” Kunigami tried to reason with Meguru, but of course, Bachira
pretended not to hear him.

“Did someone hurt our princess?” he was now just trying to piss Hyoma off more than he already
was.

Chigiri stopped dead on his track, slowly turning towards the other three with his face red. “What
did you just call me?”

“Oh, sorry, didn’t mean to call you princess, princess”

“You’re dead” and with that, Chigiri jumped with his leg ready to kick Bachira on the stomach, but
with his great reflexes, Meguru dodged the kick while laughing.

But, the one that couldn’t dodge that kick was Yoichi.

He was standing right behind Bachira in an attempt to stop the fight between his two friends, so he
couldn’t see Chigiri practically flying towards him.

He ended up on the floor, unable to breath, and starting to cry because of the pain.

When the tears started coming out of his eyes, the other three froze, but then Chigiri screamed
“This is your fault, Bachira!”.

“How was that my fault when it was your foot that hurt him?!” Meguru screamed with the same
energy as the other.

While those two kept fighting, Kunigami crouched next to Yoichi and helped him to get on his
feet, trying to get him to breathe normally again, saying “It’s okay, listen to me. Try taking small
breaths, one at a time, like this”. Inhaling and exhaling slowly, Rensuke helped his friend, and
when he was done with that, he turned towards the other two.

Bachira and Chigiri felt the stare in their backs, and instead of continuing to fight, they walked
towards Isagi like dogs with their tails between their legs, muttering “I’m sorry”.

“It’s okay, guys. And thank you, Ren-chan. But, would you stop bothering Hyoma, Bacchan? And
Hyo-chan, could you tell us what’s the matter with your mood? I don’t want either of you fighting,
please” Isagi looked like a mother tired of their kids' antics.

“I’ll stop if Hyo-chan finally tells us what’s up with him” Bachira would not give up his curiosity.

Sighing, Chigiri confessed “My mom says I’m irritable and moody because I’m about to present”
and he looked very embarrassed.

The other three were silent, sharing the same question in their minds, and of course it was Meguru
the one to ask “As an alpha?”.

Looking even more embarrassed, he said “Yeah, I’ll probably present as an alpha”.

“That’s not something to be ashamed or embarrassed about, Hyo-chan. You’ll practically be an

adult now” Yoichi tried reassuring his friend.

“Yeah, Yocchan’s right! Alphas are really awesome. Look at my mom!” It was now Bachira’s turn
to cheer him up.

“Yu-san’s really cool, you could probably be like her when you grow up” Kunigami patted Chigiri
on the back.

“No one’s as cool as my mom, but you could try to,” said Bachira with a proud smile on his face.

“Okay, okay, I get it, thanks guys. Now, please , let’s change the subject of this conversation
before I die of embarrassment” Chigiri blushed to the tip of his ears.

Kunigami thought he looked pretty like that. “Yeah, we should probably get inside the classroom
or we’ll get scolded”.

The four of them started walking towards their class, but the red-head had a warm feeling in his
chest, knowing that no matter what changes came in the future, his friends will be right by his side.

But, the teacher scolded them nonetheless.

---------------------------------

That spring after his second year of elementary school, Yoichi noticed how attractive Rin was.

He sometimes imagined himself with Rin doing the things the couples in the dramas his mom liked
to watch did. They held hands, and went on dates.

He regularly goes to Rin’s house to play and eat, so he thinks that’s a pretty decent date. Even
though they are not alone because Sae is with them too, but Yoichi doesn’t mind.

But, on one of those evenings with Rin, Sae was not there, meaning they were on a date, just the
two of them, no one else .

They were watching a football match in Yoichi's room, but Isagi could not take his eyes off of the
boy beside him, who had a little smile on his face and his eyes were sparkling due to the amazing
plays he was witnessing. A warm feeling, like tickles, started to blossom in Yoichi's stomach.

Maybe it was because of Chigiri's kick, he didn't know.

When Rin noticed this, he glared at the other boy, asking with a pout “Why are you looking at me
like that?”

Yoichi, embarrassed at his acts and totally flushed, turned his head towards the television in front
of him “I wasn’t looking at you”.

“Of course you were looking at me. I saw you, dumbass”.

“I wasn’t”.

“You were”.

“I was not!”

“You were!”

“Do you ever shut up? I’m trying to watch this match” Yoichi felt like playing dumb at his
accusations.

“Sometimes you’re so weird, Yoichi,” said Rin, continuing to watch the match.

With a gasp, Yoichi exclaimed “I'm not!”.

"You are".

"I am not! You're weird".

“You are the weirdo here”.

“This is why I like your brother more than you”.

At that, Rin wanted to punch Isagi right in the face “But he’s not here. And he’ll not come until
he's done with his rut”.

“How long will it last?” as fast as they start fighting, they stop.

“Like a week, I think. At least he gave me this” Rin then shoved his hand in the collar of his
hoodie, grabbing a necklace that belonged to Sae, showing it proudly to Isagi.

Yoichi stared at the temporal gift, and with an idea on his mind, he asked “Rin, do you like
necklaces?”

Rin looked towards the fine chain between his fingers, and then towards Isagi “Nii-chan wears this
one, so I think they’re cool”.

“Oh, okay”.

Isagi knows what to do now.

Chapter End Notes

Hi! I'm sorry it took me so long to post this, I got sick and spent most of the week on
my bed. I didn't go to school either. But here it is, I hope you like this. I'll try to post
the next one in less than a week, but I can't promise it. See you on the next chapter!
Chapter 5
Chapter Summary

What is Isagi's idea?

Chapter Notes

See the end of the chapter for notes

Isagi has an idea in his mind: he has to make the prettiest, most amazing and incredible necklace in
the whole world. He has to make it perfect for Rin.

After that enlightening conversation with him, he remembered how the couples in his mom’s
dramas often gifted each other pretty things to represent in those details the love they feel. At least
that’s what his mom told him, and he believes her.

He asked his grandma how he could make a necklace, a glass beaded one, and she told him that
they had to buy the necessary items first.

“Who are you making this gift for, Yoichi?” her grandma asked.

Yoichi, knowing how sharp his grandma was, tried to not look suspicious. “No one”.

“No one, huh. I thought it might be for that little friend of yours. Rin, was it?” She tried to look
thoughtful.

A gasp escaped his mouth. "Wha- How did you know?!” He can never hide something from her.

Laughing at his always dramatic grandson, she said “You never stop talking about him, you only
ever do that with that Noel Noa guy. You always want to save food to give to him later on. You
once rejected coming to my house just to go see him. And, the way you look at him, Yoichi. Oh, I
knew a long time ago that you loved that boy on a higher level than the rest of your friends”.

Yoichi felt so, so exposed after hearing that, that he just wanted to ask “Do you think he could have
noticed it?” Feeling so coy.

“I don’t think he has. But, I don’t think he’ll reject you either. You just have to show him your love,
bit by bit, and he’ll notice how worthy you are. I don’t think he’s a bad boy, but if he doesn’t notice
that, all the worth you have, then you have to understand that he’s not the one”.

“...okey. I’ll do it. Bit by bit”.

---------------------

They bought the multi coloured beads. Why didn't they have blue ones alone? It was Rin’s favorite
color. They make things harder for Yoichi, but he’ll do it nonetheless.

“What’s your favorite color?” Isagi asked, trying to sound casual.

Rin looked at the TV, thinking. “I would say blue. And you?”

That’s a common answer, he’s glad he won’t have to look for a weird color for the necklace.
“Light blue, for sure. And there is some color that you don’t like?”

Starting to get suspicious at his questions, Rin says “I don’t like yellow. But why are you asking
this?”

“Oh, it’s nothing. I just wanted to know”.

Rin just stared at him. “This is why you’re weird”.

“I told you I’m not!”

--------------------

Now, after buying all the items, he has to make the necklace, and that’s the hard part.

He has never made something like this, he’s not very good with handicrafts. But, he asked his
grandma for help, and there’s nothing his grandma can’t do.

Isagi started separating the blue beads from the rest, and that took a lot of time. He got a little
irritated at the little glass pieces, they weren’t cooperating with him. Why am I so bad at this? Is
this really that difficult? , Isagi thought. And, after 10 minutes, he got at least 40 beads, so he can
start with the necklace, finally .

“What’s the first step, gran?” his grandma grabbed the tanza, cutting it and giving it to Yoichi.

“You have to start passing the line through the holes of the beads, and they’re small so you have to
be patient, but with those eyes of yours it will not be a difficult task” she said while taking a seat
besides Yoichi at the table.

Starting the job, Isagi thought about Rin's reaction to the gift. Will he be surprised? Will he thank
him? Will he accept the gift? In Yoichi’s wildest dreams, Rin will give him a gift, too, professing
his love accompanied by poetry, something written by him, and will give him a kiss on the cheek,
and hold his hand and-

“Is your scent getting sweeter?” his grandma asked with a gasp, interrupting his trail of thoughts.
“Is my baby finally going to present?” She had tears in her eyes by now.

“Grandma! That’s embarrassing!” Yoichi blushed, looking like a tomato.

“How would that be embarrassing? Don’t say nonsense. It’s a really good thing! You’ll be an
omega like your mom and I!”

With that thought, Isagi relaxed, remembering how he always wished to be an omega, just like his
mom, and now maybe that will become reality. “Could you tell me more about the first heat? My
teacher told me not to ask those questions in front of everyone.”

His grandma looked outraged after hearing that. “Remember me to talk to that teacher of yours by
Monday morning. But, I’ll tell you this: it will hurt, really bad. Your body will start to change, and
with that will also start the mood swings, your body will ache, you’ll get headaches, but, you’ll be
able to have babies! Of course, they’ll come after you get married. It’s not a fun and easy
experience, but you are strong, and I know you’ll get only stronger in the future. You’re my
grandson, after all”. She grabbed Yoichi and hugged him against her chest, and he knew there was
no safer place on earth than this one, his grandma’s arms.

“Thanks, grandma” he hugged her back.

“But, now we have to finish this gift for your loved one, Yoichi. Let’s get to work!”

“Grandma!” he was blushing, again .

------------------------

When he finished the necklace, he stopped to admire his work.

It wasn’t anything like Sae’s chain. This one is colorful (even though it had one-coloured beads)
and has personality and he hopes to give the message I love you and I wanted you to know that and
I want you to love me back , and he hopes Rin gets the message as well.

But now, he has to decorate the box in which he’ll give Rin the necklace. What pattern could he
use? Colored circles? Stripes? A drawing of the two of them holding hands and walking through a
field at sunset? Maybe that’ll be a little too much, so he starts drawing circles, some hearts, some
stars, and at the end, he has a very colorful gift box to give to Rin.

Looking around for the gift bow, he noticed how he still had a lot of crystal beads, and a new idea
came to his mind. What if we share similar necklaces? Like friendship bracelets, but with
necklaces. And yep, that's a great idea, he’s a genius.

Now, Rin’s gift will have to wait inside that box until Isagi’s done with his own necklace. And
he’ll make himself a light blue one, and they’ll have necklaces, and they’ll be in their favorite
colors! And they can even exchange them some days, and he’ll get to have Rin’s blue one, and Rin
will have his light blue one. It’s an incredible idea.

He hopes Rim likes them, too.

Chapter Summary

Isagi's gift and Rin's reaction

Chapter Notes

See the end of the chapter for notes

Isagi was very nervous.

He finished both necklaces with his grandma, and was now standing in front of the Itoshi's
household, having a mental dilemma over ringing the doorbell or running away and hiding forever.
But, he clearly couldn't do that. He has made the gift, he has made his necklace, he is already at
Rin's door, and most importantly, he is brave. He is not afraid of this, he will face this .

He took a deep breath, extended his arm and pressed the bell. Okay , he thought, it's time.

Footsteps could be heard as someone was walking towards the door, and Isagi smelled Sae at the
other side. The door swung open, and as the older boy was about to greet his blue-eyed friend, he
noticed the box in his hands. "Hi, Yoi. What is that? Is it for me?" He asked, a teasing smile on his
lips.

Of course, Yoichi stepped inside, hugging his friend, and replying "Hi Sae, I missed you",
completely ignoring the other's question.

"I missed you, too, muffin", ruffling his hair, Sae stepped away, letting Yoichi take off his shoes,
"but are you going to ignore my question?"

After grabbing his pair of slippers, he turned towards Sae, whispering "It's for Rin, but it's a
surprise! Don't tell him, because I haven't thought of a way to give it to him yet. I just need a
moment, I need to calm down".

Trying to hold back his laughter, Sae scoffed, "What for? His birthday is in like five months".

Yoichi was quick to reply "It's nor for his birthday! It's just a gift!"

"Are you going to tell me the reason or are we going to pretend you just felt the need to give Rin a
gift?"

Starting to get nervous again, Isagi debated between telling Sae the truth or not, but at the end, he
sighed, muttering something Sae couldn't catch on.

"Sorry, what? I couldn't hear you".

Again, Isagi muttered "...gift".

"Yoi, please. Say it louder because I can't hear you" said Sae, starting to get impatient.
"It's a court gift!" Isagi nearly shouted. "I saw the couples in the dramas doing these, and I made
necklaces for both me and Rin to share".

Sae, totally shocked at the blabbering mess Isagi was now, didn't know what to say to the kid. But
as fast as the shock came, as fast as it disappeared. This time, he couldn't hold back the laugh that
escaped his mouth, saying "Is that it? Gosh Yoichi, I wasn't expecting that! And I surely didn't
know you were going to tell Rin you like him this soon!"

Isagi, stopped his blabbering, just to whisper-shout "Did you already know that I liked Rin?!"

Sae, amused, replied "Of course I knew. I've watched you two interact with each other for years .
Did you really think I couldn't notice the way you look at him? Your whole body radiates love
when you are around him". Sae stopped there, not knowing if it was correct of him to talk about his
brother.

Totally embarrassed, Yoichi wanted to crawl into his room, locked away from the rest of the world
for the rest of his life. "I can't believe I'm that obvious! My grandma said the same thing!" He cried
out. "I thought no one knew. And I'm very nervous because I don't know how to tell Rin all of
this!"

"Tell me what?"

The new voice coming from the hallway startled the two boys who were still standing in the
genkan . They looked towards Rin, staring at the two of them, waiting for an answer. Since when
was Rin there? Just how much of the conversation has he heard? Why didn't they hear him?!

"Rin! I didn't know you were here!" Yoichi felt his soul leaving his body.

"It's my house? I live here. Of course I'm going to be here. I didn't know you were here" a frown,
Rin's typical frown, accompanied his statement. "And what's in that box?"

Great, now his surprise was ruined; he physically deflated. He didn't even think of hiding it from
his view, so he gave up. "It's a gift" he then walked towards him, the tips of his ears turning pink,
"... for you". His face was now on fire.

Rin's body stiffened, his eyes widening ever so slightly, it would've gone unnoticed by Sae, but not
for Isagi, as he was standing right in front of him, staring directly at those familiar teal orbs. "For
me…?"

Isagi decided that this was his first step to make Itoshi Rin fall in love with him. You have to be
brave . He extended the little gift towards the other. "Yes, I made this for you. Open it".

Breathe in, breathe out.

Still a little dumbfounded, Rin reached for the colorful box, taking it with both hands. Opening it,
he noticed a blue beaded necklace. My favorite color, he thought. Grabbing the accessory, he took
it out of the box. "Did you make it?" His voice was barely a whisper, but Isagi heard it.

"I thought about buying one, but it wouldn't have been the same. So I decided to make them". Isagi
started twisting his fingers, a habit he's had since he was a toddler.
"Them?"

"Oh! Yes, them. Look" he reached for something he was keeping in his backpack, "I made this
one, too. For myself. They're our favorite colors" Isagi said, proudly noticing as Rin's eyes had a
new glint in them.

Rin, then, turned towards the hallway, and started walking to the living room. Isagi, confused and
a little hurt at the outcome, followed Rin, as well as Sae. Rin's mother came into view, turning
towards his youngest son after Rin called out for her. "What do you need, darling?"

Rin extended the necklace to her. "Put this on me, please".

Kiyoko stares at the item, saying "Aw! What a cute necklace! Who give you this?"

Pointing at Isagi, Rin said "Yoichi did. The box too".

Kiyoko, now noticing the other two boys standing at the door, greeted Yoichi, "How have you
been, Yo- chan ? We've missed you!"

"Hi, Kiyo- san , I've missed you too! I'm glad Sae's rut is done, I missed him too".

A grunt could be heard in the room, coming from a frowning Rin who was still waiting for his
mom to finish what he asked her to. "He wasn't alone this week. I was with him, remember?!"

"Of course, Rin!" Isagi looked at Sae, excitedly saying "We watched the Barcelona - Man United
match! It was epic!"

Sae frowned, really upset about it, "I can't believe I missed that. A whole season waiting for it and
I couldn't watch it". His scent was sour, like burned wood, making both Rin and Isagi wrinkle their
noses.

"You can all watch it again here" Kiyoko tried to appease his oldest son, his scent was still a little
intense because of the rut. "I've finished watching my show, you can have the TV".

"Are you sure?" Asked Sae, grinning. He really wanted to watch that match.

"Of course!" she clapped her hands. "Okay! It's done, Rin. Go see your new necklace!"

Rin, failing at containing his excitement, ran towards the mirror at one of the walls of the living
room. He saw the blue contrasting with his pale skin, the beads were a really pretty color, and it
still had that scent that he couldn't figure out what it was, but Yoichi has been carrying it since the
past month. Turning to look at his friend, his cheeks burned as he said, "...thank you".

Yoichi couldn't breathe. He was now dying.

Of course he knew that at some point Rin would've thanked him for the gift. But, whoa , he didn't
think it would affect him this much. Two words , and he felt as if all the oxygen of his lungs had
disappeared. But as he kept going over and over at how pretty Rin looked with rosy cheeks, Sae
elbowed him, trying to make him react. Say something. "Ah! It's nothing, really. It's okay. You
don't have to thank me! It was in fact like a friendship bracelet but with necklaces, you know? I
wanted to be, like, original? Something like that, and I made them myself so I think it's better-".
"Yoi", Sae stopped his blabbering for a second time that day, "do you want me to help you with
yours?" Making grabby hands towards his necklace.

"Yeah! Please, help me". Now it was Isagi's turn to have rosy cheeks. I was saying nonsense, again
.

Both of them had their necklaces on, and Kiyoko couldn't stop cooing at the two cute babies. She
was so happy, and she couldn't wait to see them together, because she too noticed what was going
on. But for now, she grinned, clapping her hands again to gain everyone's attention, "Let's take a
photo of you two!"

"Yeah, that's a great idea. I'll go get the camera" Sae went upstairs to look for it.

"Mom!" started whining Rin. "Is it necessary? It'll be embarrassing!"

"Oh, let me enjoy my two baby boys giving each other little things! I feel so happy right now!" she
couldn't hold back the giggles. They've been together since they were 4 and 3, she was about to cry
over them being so grown up now.

"Here it is! Now, stand side by side" said Sae, coming with the camera in his hands. "Rin, smile
you little goblin. And now, say cheese!"

Isagi, a wide smile on his face, decided to rest his head on Rin's shoulder, making the other freeze.
He squinted his eyes, making a peace sign, "Cheese!"

Rin, on the other hand, had a little smile on his lips, and when Isagi's head touched his shoulder,
his eyes widened.

That photo was Isagi's favorite for years.

Rin's too.

Chapter Summary

A new plan, but maybe it will not go the way they planned it to be.

Chapter Notes

See the end of the chapter for notes

At the age of 9, there was an accident.

It was a normal day for Isagi. He was on his way to school, Sae on his right and Rin on Sae’s right.
“Why are we walking and not in our car?” Asked an annoyed Rin.

“Because”, Sae sighed, while adjusting the straps of his backpack, “I wanted to prove to mom and
dad that I can take care of you two, so they could finally go on that trip and leave the house to me-
I mean, us. To us.

“And why do you want to have the house for you?” Isagi scratched his cheek, not quite
understanding why Sae would want that. His older friend was starting to have some weird
behaviors that neither Rin nor him understood, but at the end of the day, Sae was almost in high
school and they weren’t even in middle school, so that could explain it. “I hate when my parents
are away on trips. I prefer when I get home after school and they are waiting for me”.

“Yeah, me too. I hate when dad goes away, because their bed feels too big and cold with only mom
in it” said Rin, making Sae sigh, again.

“You won’t understand it” he ruffled the two kids’ hair, making them grunt. “I want to invite my
friends over, and I know mom is gonna be fluttering around us all night and will insist on going to
bed at midnight. Dad will want to play FIFA with us and won’t stop teasing for losing against an ‘
old geezer like him’ . If they’re not home, nothing like that will happen, It’ll just be my friends and
me”.

“And where will I be? I live there too, you know?” Rin scoffed.

“You,” Sae grabbed his arm and pulled him towards Isagi’s side “will be staying at Isagi’s house,
and won’t tell this to our parents because the only clause for them to leave us alone is that I have to
take care of you all day”. Sae grinned, having all figured it out.

“Yeah, Rin! Let’s have a sleepover! I can tell Bachira and the others, and we’ll spend the evening
playing football. We can eat pizza, and then we’ll sleep in the game’s room! It’ll be fun!” Isagi
was now very excited, he can’t remember the last time they had a sleepover. He can fall asleep
next to Rin and hug him all night long like they did when they were younger.

Rin’s face lit up, but then he frowned. “Can’t it just be the two of us? Bachira sleepwalks, Chigiri’s
scent is not nice and the other day he growled at me, and Kunigami gets angry when he loses”.

Sae gasped, “He growled at you?!”

“It’s only because he was in a bad mood because Bachira was being extra annoying with him that
day, and Rin happened to step on his new shoes! He doesn't go around growling at people, I
swear!” Isagi really wanted to have a sleepover with Rin, but being alone with him was off the
table. You see, he’s being pretty nervous lately around Rin. He’ll get restless by just standing next
to his friend , just like now. He doesn’t know what’s wrong with him, his tummy feels weird and
his skin tight, all he wants to do is cuddle with his family, or Rin , in a warm, cozy place. He
doesn’t know what’s wrong, and it’s driving him crazy. So, having a sleepover with Rin and his
friends sounds much better.

Rin glared at him, deepening his frown. Isagi could only put on his best puppy eyes, pout a little,
and pray for his friends to accept the plan. And, of course, Rin was a weak, weak boy, especially if
Isagi asked him for something, so the only choice for him was to surrender. “Fine. We can have a
sleepover with your friends. Only this one”.

“Yes! I’ll tell them as soon as I see them!” Isagi was glowing with excitement. If he would’ve had a
tail, he would be happily waggling it. Rin turned away, embarrassed, his face heating up, flushing
to his ears.

“All right, it’s settled. I can have the house and you can have a sleepover. Everyone’s happy” Sae
clapped his hands, foreseeing his awesome weekend.

-------------

The day finally came.

Isagi was helping the housekeeper in the kitchen. His room was clean and tidy, the game’s room
had all the tatamis ready in the closet, the backyard had all they needed to play football, the TV
was ready for some FIFA rounds, and his friends were about to get there. He was excited, but also
nervous. Rin was about to come and he had picked a cute outfit (according to his mom) thinking
that maybe Rin would like it, but he wasn’t so sure now. He also still has this weird feeling of
being on edge all the time, but maybe spending the day with his friends and Rin will distract him
from it.

The doorbell rang through the house, making Yoichi jump a little. He ran towards the door,
opening it and revealing an awkward-looking Rin. “Hi Rin. Did you come here alone?” It was
strange not seeing Sae accompanying his brother to his house. “Come inside”, he said, making
room for Rin.

“Sae’s friend was already at my house so he called a cab and gave me some money to pay for it.
But I don’t like that guy Sae hangs out with, he’s too loud and doesn’t have manners. He even
grabbed my favorite cup without even asking me. I hate him” Rin stomped inside, putting his
slippers on.

“How is his name?” Yoichi was confused, not knowing who Rin was complaining about.

Scratching his head and leaving his bag on the couch, he turned towards his friend . “Shidou? I
think. And I’m pretty sure he likes my brother, he’s always staring at him”.

Yoichi choked with his own spit. “Do you think he likes Sae just because of how Shidou looks at
him?” Was Rin aware of how he looked at him?! He’d been trying to be subtle about his feelings,
but it seems that everyone is able to tell who everyone’s crush is by just ‘how they look at the
other’.

“Yeah, I mean. He is always complimenting my brother on everything that he does and asking for
his attention, he kisses his cheek and tries to hug him all the time. Once I even caught them
tousling around on Sae’s bed while making weird sounds, and Shidou had Sae’s shirt on his hands.
I wonder if there is anything that he won’t take from us. He’s annoying” Rin sat down on the
couch, waiting for Isagi to do the same.

Tousling around in bed? That sounds like what his parents were doing that time that he got home
early from his grandma’s house. He got scared because he thought his parents were fighting, he
heard his mom crying, nobody could blame him. “I can’t imagine Sae letting anyone, except for
us, hug him, That sounds so not like him”.

When Rin was about to answer that, the doorbell rang again, making the two kids know that the
rest of their friends had gotten there. Yoichi sat up and went to open the door, while Rin frowned
because his little time alone with Yoichi was over.

“Hi, Yo-chan! We’re here!” Shouted a really excited Bachira, immediately jumping to hug his
friend. “My mom brought us all!”

“Hi, Yo,” Kunigami said, while trying to carry two bags. “Bachira, come back here and take your
bag, it’s freaking heavy!” But it was already too late, Bachira had gone inside and was now trying
to hug Rin, who was running away from him.

Chigiri stepped inside, hugging Yoichi. “Hi, Yoichi”, but then he went still, and sniffed Yoichi’s
neck and shoulder, as if he were looking for something. “Did you put on some perfume? You smell
sweet”.

A little embarrassed about his friend sniffing him , he remembered his grandma’s comments and
his mom telling him about the first heat. Was it already his time to present? “Yeah, my mom got
me this super sweet new perfume from her last trip and I thought I could use it now”.

“It smells nice”, Chigiri went inside the living room with the rest of the boys, letting Yoichi alone
to breath and calm himself because, what is he supposed to do if he presents now? His mom is not
here yet, and he doesn’t know what to do! And most important, Rin is here!

“Come here, Yo- chan . Let’s go play outside!” He heard Bacchan shouting, so he decided to try to
relax and leave this problem to the Yoichi of the future.

-----------------------

It was already time for dinner. His mom was home, and Yoichi has had one of the best days of his
life. They had been playing football in the backyard the whole time, and after dinner, they were
going to play some matches on his PlayStation.

The night breeze was comforting, the boys were sitting on the ground. Rin was right beside him,
yawning; one of his hands brushed the one Yoichi had on his side, and just like that, his tummy felt
weird, the same sensation, as if worms were inside him, made him uncomfortable. “Why don’t we
go inside? I’m hungry” his voice was almost a whine, trying to get his friends attention.
“Yes, please. I could eat two whole pizzas on my own” Chigiri was the first to stand up, extending
his hand towards Kunigami to help him. Rensuke took it, looking away.

Entering the kitchen, Yoichi asked the housekeeper for the pizza. They took it and asked Iyo if
they could eat it in the game’s room, getting an affirmative response, followed by the shouts of the
five boys (just three of them, Chigiri just thanked Iyo, and Rin didn’t utter a word).

They played with their favorite football teams, ate the delicious pizza, and right after the fifth
match, Rin yawned again, getting Yoichi’s attention. “Hey, guys, I’m a little tired already. Could
we continue playing tomorrow?” He asked, knowing very well that Rin wouldn’t even think of
asking them, too proud to make the other kids know that his bedtime was due an hour ago.

“It was just getting exciting!” Bachira whined, hanging on Yoichi’s arm.

“I know, but I’ve been up since eight AM, and I really want to sleep,” he pouted, trying to hit the
soft place every friend of his had for him, succeeding. “So, please?”

The other boys nodded.

In an instant, everyone had their tatami ready, and of course Rin had picked to be right by Yoichi,
a little too close, but of course , nobody commented on it. No one wanted to deal with a pissed off
Rin, especially Yoichi, he wanted to sleep by a calm and compliant Rin.

With the lights off and with the five of them quiet, they called the day off. No one could expect
what was about to come.

Chapter Summary

The accident

Chapter Notes

See the end of the chapter for notes

Around two AM, Yoichi felt a hand touching his arm, then his shoulder, and finally, his neck .
Everything burned around him, like wildfire spreading through the room; his own body was the
fire.

“Yoi,” he heard someone whispering. “Yoi,” again, a little more demanding. Opening his eyes,
familiar teal orbs were staring right at him, waiting for an answer. “You smell nice,” the voice
whispered, “can I hug you?”

He was too close, smelled nice, too. A soft place, warm body beside him, yeah, that sounded nice .
“Come here,” Yoichi said, moving his body to make room. An itch in his neck, scratching it was
not working. “Touch my neck again, please ,” a whine escaped his mouth, followed by similar
sounds.

The boy slid to his tatami , one hand on Yoichi’s middle and the other one slightly scratching his
neck, but that didn’t work either. Maybe something warm, something wet could work. Rin hugged
him even closer, sticking his nose right where the itch was becoming unbearable. “Rin,” he asked.
Silence. “Hey, Rin,” he repeated, touching his arm. The boy grunted as a response. “Lick it, please.
It hurts ,” his voice a high pitched chirp.

Without even asking why , as if he was still dreaming, Rin did it. Licking a long stripe of his neck,
reaching the earlobe, then coming back down where the scent was more concentrated, right at the
conjunction of the shoulder and neck. More grunts were coming out of Rin’s mouth, and Yoichi’s
tummy felt funny.

Rin was letting out a musky scent, or something like wet soil, too. So weird, they’re still pups, how
is that even possible?

Yoichi heard some sounds, maybe a gasp, someone talking, or was it a growl? He couldn’t tell, but
then, the lights were on, and Kunigami was calling for him. His mouth was moving, but he
couldn’t understand a single word coming out of his mouth, a deep rumbling was everything he
could hear. And then, a growl even louder made him turn his head to the side. It was Chigiri, but
why was he mad? He didn’t do anything to him.

Someone grabbed his arm and yanked him away from Rin’s warm body, his tongue no longer
soothing the horrible pain on his neck. Whining, it was all he could do to make Rin come back to
his side. He was still suffering, the scent was comforting, and his body was burning .

“Call Iyo,” someone said. Was that Bachira? Looking up, he realized his friend had a worried
expression plastered on his face, Kunigami was trying to force Rin out of the room, and Chigiri
was looking at Rin with a furious glint in his eyes.
A long, high pitched moan was what made both boys, both alphas , look at him. He needed
someone soothing his ache, his body was screaming at him but no one was hearing it.

Before any of them could help him, his mom appeared at the door, running towards him. After
that, he can’t remember a single thing.

-----------------------

He spent his first heat in a hot, insufferable blur.

He remembers his body being on fire, his skin too tight, the bedsheets too rough, and the world too
much for him. He kept calling the name of the alpha, his alpha , to come help him. The warm,
cozy place was way too empty without him. He needed those teal eyes to look at him. Trying
everything he could, even crying out for him , but nothing worked. Alpha was not coming.

After three days, he regained consciousness, the heat clouding his mind dissipated. He was on his
parents’ bed, his mom right by his side, caressing his face. “Hi, my little prince. How are you
feeling?” Her soft voice calmed his nerve wrack state.

“My body hurts, mommy. What happened? Where are my friends? Where is Rin?” His scent
spiked, the lavender and honey scent getting a little sour.

“Calm down, baby. Your friends went home after you got your heat, and Rin is at his house, still
having his rut . It seems like your pheromones triggered his. I had to call Sae, and then I called
Kiyoko. Everything is fine now, okay?” But no, not at all, nothing was fine .

He triggered Rin’s rut?! Life can’t be this embarrassing. Not just that he presented in a sleepover
with his friends and crush, but he also triggered the rut of said crush. That’s it, he is never coming
out of his room, ever again.

Smelling the distressed pheromones coming out of his son, Iyo let out calming ones; Yoichi,
smelling the roses’ smell, relaxed a little bit. “Baby, listen to me; everything is going to be fine.
This is not something you should be ashamed of, it’s only natural. Who would’ve thought that you
were going to present at a sleepover? No one could tell!” Okay, he now felt guilty.

He felt his body weird and his skin tight, also his sweeter scent, maybe very obvious signs that he
was about to present, but it was just too embarrassing to tell his mom about it. And, he would’ve
had to cancel the sleepover. But, thinking about it, that would’ve been better, nothing would’ve
happened. Maybe this mistake will cost him his friendship with Rin.

“Everything is going to be fine, baby. Trust me,” oh, he wanted to believe her .

----------------------
It was time to face his friends. After not going to school for a few days, it was now time.

He shyly let go of his mom’s hand, looking back at her, he received a warm smile, encouraging
him to keep going inside. The first of his friends he saw was Kunigami, talking with a purple-
haired boy near the entrance. When his friend saw him, his eyes widened, and immediately
sprinted towards him. Hugging him, he said “You came! I thought you were still,” he paused, not
sure of saying the h-word or not. “ We went to your house the day after, but your mom told us that
you were going to be fine, so we just waited for you to come back”. Yoichi relaxed in his friend’s
embrace, he really needed the comfort of it.

“I’m so sorry about what happened, really. Neither of you should’ve seen that. Do you forgive
me?” Shame washed his entire body, heating up his face. He couldn’t even look Rensuke in the
eyes.

“What? Don’t apologize, dumbass,” he blushed, not knowing how to react to that, deciding to hug
Yoichi even tighter to make him know that everything was fine. They were fine.

Someone shouted “Yo -chan !” And without giving them time to react, two bodies collided with
theirs. “You’re finally here! I’ve missed you so much, you have no idea!” Grabbing his head,
Meguru started giving him kisses on his forehead.

“I was really worried, you stupid!” It was now time for Hyoma to hug him. It was a really funny
sight, the four of them scattered on the school floor in front of the rest of the kids. At any moment
now, a teacher could come and scold them for it.

Laughing, Yoichi knew that no matter how embarrassing he could be, his friends could be even
more embarrassing for his sake. And he loves them just the way they are.

The easy part was done. Now, he had to face Rin.
