Welcome and intro Voice over: Hello Class! This is Teacher Terry Jane. It’s nice meeting you again in our video lesson.
of the lesson Last meeting, we have learned about How to Draft Pajama Pants Basic/Block Pattern – Front Part.
On this session, we will learn how to draft the pajama pants mainly the back part. Are you excited to
wear your pajamas? Don’t worry… this lesson will help you. Come on, let us learn and enjoy!

Our video lesson for this day is about the Drafting Pajama Pants Basic/Block Pattern – Back Part.
Are you ready class? Let’s begin in drafting pattern for Pajama Pants (Back Part) just follow me and
have fun.
The needed Tools and Materials
 Tape measure
 French curve
 Hip curve
 L-square
 Ruler
 Pattern paper
 Pencil

Rise/Crotch
Waist 4
Hip/Seat 4
Bottom 2

Voice over:

DRAFTING THE BACK PART

M - from C to the right is ¼ hips plus 2.5 to 5 cm. Square up From point M.
N - intersection at Line A.
O - from M to the right is 2 cm.
P - from O to the right is 8 cm.
Q - from B to the right is ½ bottom measure plus 2.5 cm. Make a guideline from
O to Q.
R - is the intersection at line D. Shape the inseam using hip curve from P to R
Connect R to Q with straight line. Apply ease if the shape is not smoothly
 drawn.
S - from Q is the same measurement as G to J (front part).
T - from N to the left is 3.5 cm. Connect T to O with a Guideline and extend
upward.
U - is the intersection at line M. Shape the back crotch using French curve from
U to S.
V - from T upward is 3 cm. Connect V to I with a straight line.
W - from V upward is 3 cm
X - from I upward is 3 cm. Connect W to X with a straight line.
Back crotch line connect W, V and U. Re-shape the crotch line if it is needed.
Y - from B downward is 4 cm. Square out both ways.
J1 - from Y to the left is the same as J to B plus 1 cm and connect J to J1
Q1 - from Y to the right is the same as B to Q plus 1 cm and connect Q to Q1

Before we end this session, let’s take this some reminders in drafting pajama pants basic/ block pattern :
First, tools to be used must be complete, appropriate, and correct. Then, follow the correct method or
procedures. Lastly, all pattern details should be measured correctly and drafted accurately.
