REFLECTION NOTE on the Coaching and Mentoring by Dr. Cristy Reyes

on Effectiveness of Teaching Strategies That Promote
Learner Achievement in Literacy and Numeracy
in Contemporary Philippine Arts from the
Regions

The guidance and support in the subject of Contemporary Philippine Arts

from the Regions have been invaluable, especially in promoting learner
achievement in literacy and numeracy. Throughout my journey as an educator, I
had the privilege of receiving coaching and mentoring from Dr. Cristy Reyes, a
Master Teacher II, in various sessions, meetings, sessions, Focus Group Discussions,
and collegial discussions.
During our sessions, she skillfully adapted her teaching strategies to cater to
individual learning styles, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning
environment. She consistently demonstrated a deep understanding of the subject
matter and a passion for helping her students succeed by the means of that it
promotes the literacy and numeracy in the subject matter.
Dr. Reyes Effectiveness in teaching strategies as mentor foster me to be
creative, enthusiastic and a critical thinker which boost my confidence.
She delivers constructive feedback. Open and honest communication is key
to strengthening the relationship.
Dr. Reyes added, using activities like group discussions, project-based
learning, and problem-solving exercises, learners developed critical thinking skills,
improved their literacy, and applied numeracy in practical contexts. She
consistently highlighted the importance of holistic development.

Dr. Reyes ensured that learners were not only equipped to excel in literacy
and numeracy but also in their future endeavors beyond the classroom.
Achieving inclusive and quality education reaffirms the belief that education
is one of the most powerful and proven vehicles for sustainable development.
I am honored to learn from Dr. Reyes, skilled and full of wisdom and a
passionate leader. Through her guidance, I have learned to be a more student-
focused educator, implementing effective teaching strategies that promote learner
achievement in literacy and numeracy. I am deeply grateful for the knowledge and
inspiration she shared, and I am confident that her teachings will continue to have a
lasting impact on both my teaching practices and my students' educational
journey.

Overall, Dr. Cristy Reyes' coaching and mentoring have been instrumental in
transforming my teaching approach in Contemporary Philippine Arts from the
