REFLECTION NOTE on the Coaching and Mentoring by Dr. Cristy Reyes

in Planning for the Selection, Organization, Development, and
Use of Appropriate Teaching and Learning Resources
in Contemporary Philippine Arts from the Regions

There were no words to express my gratitude for the unwavering support

and assistance and mentoring provide by Dr. Cristy M Reyes, Master Teacher II, her
expertise helps me a lot especially in enriching the techniques and strategies also
with the planning and selection, organization development and use of appropriate
teaching and learning resources in Contemporary Philippine Arts from the Regions.

Throughout the meetings and sessions, the relevance of appropriate

selection of mediums was also highlighted. She also added that alignment and
congruency in the learning objectives is a must.

Dr. Reyes emphasized in a concise manner the features, functions in

integrating “Generation Z” approach in empowering Philippine Arts with the use
of technologies. She persistently encouraged me to incorporate different avenue to impart
the lessons in engaging and creative way such as games, Digi arts, Visual representation and
interactive educational tools. I was able to create a dynamic and stimulating learning
environment that resonated with the students and facilitated their comprehension of
complex concepts Contemporary Philippine Arts, Promoting the prestigious heritage
and culture with the use of Arts.
Moreover, Dr. Reyes emphasized the need for a diverse range of teaching
resources to accommodate the varying needs and interests of our students.

Dr. Reyes also played a crucial role in guiding me towards developing my own
teaching resources. Through her support and feedback, I gained confidence in creating
custom learning activity sheets, lesson plans and assessments that aligned with the
subject's objectives and allowed students to apply their knowledge in the real, life
scenarios.
In our planning sessions, She consistently emphasized the importance of
aligning teaching resources with the intended learning outcomes and the broader
goals of fostering critical thinking, creativity. Her insights boost my confidence to
create and think out of the box.
It was indeed successful and cultivated the true meaning of mentorship, it brings
the best in me. I have learned to be more strategic in my resource selection,
organization, development, and integration of technology. As a result, it contributed
to my holistic development as well as my student’s progress. The mentorship is the
pathway for meaningful and creative teaching and learning process.
I am really grateful for wisdom, skills and love that she have given to me as a
mentee. I will surely put my hundred percent in everything that I do, especially in the
field of teaching. Dr Reyes is truly an inspiration.
