By Youssef and Fayez

What is Adrenaline?
Hormone produced in the adrenal gland
Helps you prepare for stressful or dangerous
situations
Adrenaline rush: quick release of adrenaline
into your bloodstream, triggers a “fight or
flight” response.
Where is adrenaline secreted?
In the adrenal glands:
small triangular-shaped
glands on top of both
kidneys
“Fight or Flight” Response

The body's automatic reaction to a perceived

threat
Crucial survival mechanism designed to help
individuals respond to and cope with stressful
situations.
Noradrenaline

Noradrenaline: Acts on various target effects include:

hormone/neurotrans tissues: increased heart rate
mitter in the same blood vessels vasoconstriction
family as adrenaline, the heart heightened alertness
released in the PNS. other organs

Effects of
Adrenaline
Pupils dilate Reduced pain sensitivity

Enhanced strength
Increased heart rate
and speed
Medical Uses
Treatment of severe allergic reactions eas
an emergency medication

Used during bronchospasm, (which is

when muscles lining the bronchi tighten)
to dilate the airways and improve
breathing in conditions like asthma and
chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
(COPD).

Employed in local anesthesia to narrow

blood vessels, reduce bleeding, and
prolong the local anesthetic effect.
Conclusions
Conclusion 01
Adrenaline is a hormone secreted by the
adrenal glands located on top of the kidneys.
It works hand in hand with noradrenaline,
which is in the same family.(catecholamine)

Conclusion 02
Adrenaline triggers the “Fight or Flight”
response and causes various effects including
increased heart rate and rate of respiration.

Conclusion 03
It has many practical everyday uses like
exercise and medication, but also can be
potentially harmful.
