My initial impression of Mary:

Mary seems to be a strong willed, defiant leader who is motivated by her aims
and passions. Her devotion to the Catholic religion and her anxiety surrounding
the succession drove her to worsened mental health and anger. Mary has been
brought up to believe she was the rightful heir to the throne and has received
training to be ready for her time on the throne. When this is questioned during
her teen years, it caused this obsession and fear- mainly of the continuation of
the Catholic faith. Finally, Mary possessed great ruling abilities which were
perhaps overlooked by many due to her being a woman, however these were
proven later in her reign.
