Based on two criteria:


 Customer lead time: the amount of time, from the giving order, the customer is willing
to wait for to rereive the product
 Manufacturing lead time: the amount of time from the given order until the product
handed to the customer

 Engineer to order: (Tính toán – thiết kế theo yêu cầu) first model such as aeroplane,
express train,..
 Make to order (sản xuất theo yêu cầu): unknown trend or needs of customer -> order ->
design, manufacturing plan and produce as order received
 Assemble to order (lắp ráp theo yêu cầu): applying when customer lead time less than
manufacturing lead time (4-door car is compared to 2-door car)
 Make to stock (sản xuất để dự trữ): replacement components, with manufacturing lead
time is equal to zero
 The company leading the market or vice versa?

 Supply Chain (chuỗi cung ứng): the network of suppliers (raw) material for
parts/components of a company. Maybe, it is the interconnection among many
suppliers, until products are deliveried to customers (end-user)
