Every day there are more and more products marketed for
curly and wavy hair claiming to be sulfate free and all natural.
However, you need to look past the labels and actually read
ingredients to make sure the products truly don't contain any
of the ingredients that dry out and coat your hair.

For example, many products say "sulfate free", but they are
only referring to the most commonly known sulfate "sodium
lauryl sulfate". There are actually 15 different kinds of sulfates
that need to be avoided.

The same for clarifying. Many curly girl approved cleanser say
clarifying but they aren't truly clarifying because they don't
contain the only safe clarifying ingredient for the CG method.

The main ingredients to look out for are the ones that NEED
to be avoided:
sulfates
drying alcohols
non-water soluble silicones and ingredients

There are good alcohols that moisturize, water-soluble

silicones that don't build-up, and safe "sulfates" so it is
important to know and avoid any confusion.
