tion, and capitalization skills by translating text speak into sentences using proper
writing conventions.
2. Alien Text Talk activities will help students recognize the vast di fference between
text speak and proper writing conventions and help them understand the appropri-
ate time and place for usage in writing.
Directions:
Teachers can u tilize these activities to best fit into their schedule. Following are some suggest-
ed options:
2. Print a copy of each sheet for the student and assign as enrichment or
homework. Conclude the week with a class discussion to review the answers
to reinforce skills.
2. Click the link below to download the linked file into your own Google
Drive. The link will prompt you to make a copy to get started. This is
necessary so that you or your students don’t accidentally make
changes to the original file. You can rename the file if you desire.
3. Share the copy with your students. Emailing the links works well.
4. When students click the link, they will be prompted to make a copy,
which puts the file into their Google Drive.
5. Students will be able to access the content, type in the text boxes,
move shapes (if applicable), etc.
7. Students can share their work in progress and/or the completed file.
