Event Proposal for English Speech Contest

Event Background
Along with the times, using English is no longer an option but has become a necessity. The emergence
of various technologies, cultural exchanges, also the advanced of global market make English play a
very important role. We must be able to use English anywhere on many occasions and needed to be
applied from the center of education, that is school.
Not just for speaking, English is also needed to move people through speech. To be able making the
great speech, the skills need to be honed from an early age. Students need to be frequently trained for
public speaking, using English of course. This will contribute to build their confidence as well as
improve their English speaking skills. So later in the future, they could become nation’s successors
who will represent Indonesia to speak for the world.
That become the background for Student Council of Permata Bangsa Senior High School to hold the
English Speech Contest for High School. This speech contest will be held for high school students at
West Java Province area. With this event, we hope that students’ skills in english could be honed even
better. In addition, we also hope that this event could nourish the students’ courage and confidence in
public speaking.

English Speech Contest for High School – West Java Provincial Level
Event Theme
Creating the prospective leaders as the future generation with honing English speech skills.
Event Purposes
The purposes from this event are:
1. Honing the student’s English skills and speech ability
2. Improving the student’s courage and confidence
3. Creating the future generation who will be the precious asset for the country
Event Time
This event will be held for a week, on November 8th – 10th, 2023. The event will be held at Permata
Bangsa High School Hall.
Event Participants
The participants of this event are the high school students and equal of the schools at West Java
Province. The estimated participants are 100 participants from 80 schools.
Organizing Committee
This event is held by the Student Council of Permata Bangsa High School. The structure of committee
is attached.
Estimated Cost
The overall estimated cost of this event is attached.

Closing
Thus the proposal for this event was prepared as a guide for the implementation of the event. We’re
expecting the support and participation of all parties so that this event could be carried out as well as
possible.
