as “The City That
Never Sleeps.”
• The city is so nice
that they named it
twice.
• Once it was called The New York University (NYU) campus
New Amsterdam. borders Washington Square Park
New York City
• A city with almost
10,000,000 People
• Five boroughs:
Bronx, Brooklyn,
Manhattan, Queens,
and Staten Island
• Three rivers:
Hudson, East, and
New York City’s Broadway
Harlem

• A Famous New York
sight is the Statue of
Liberty
• It was given to
Americans by French
people in 1886
• Here is a photo of
the statue when it
was being built, in
Paris

• It is 46m tall
but with the
pedestal, it is
95m
• People can
climb to the
top and see the
view
