 refers to the process of evaluating or
measuring a person's knowledge, skills,
abilities, qualities, or performance in a
particular area.
 It is “an umbrella that encompasses different
techniques, strategies, and uses” (Mcmillan,
2018).

MEASUREMENT
is a process of assigning numbers to individuals or
their characteristics according to specific rules.

The nature of measurement includes selecting


appropriate scales (e.g., nominal, ordinal, interval,
ratio), establishing reliability and validity, and ensuring
that the measurements are precise and accurate.

The process of measurement involves three steps:

1.identifying and defining attributes;

2.determining the set of operations to isolate and


display the attribute; and

3. quantifying the attribute.
