TOPIC: MOTION INFORMATION AND MEDIA

1. Preliminary Activity
2. Learning Objectives
At the end of the lesson, all students will be able to:
• describe the different dimensions of motion information and media;
• discuss how motion information and media is/are formally and informally produced,
organized, and disseminated; and
• evaluate the reliability and validity of motion information and media and
its/their sources using selection criteria.

3. Essential Question/s:
How does our understanding of motion physics enhance the accuracy and impact of motion
representation in various forms of media?

5. Reflection:
How might the principles of motion we explored today influence your perception and critique of
motion in movies, animations, or other media? Consider how a deeper understanding of physics
can contribute to creating more realistic and engaging representations of motion.

Group Task 1:
MOTION COLLAGE
Learners are provided with magazines, newspapers, and other print materials.
They will cut out images that represent different dimensions of motion (linear, circular,
oscillatory, etc.). They will create a collage by arranging the images on a poster or large sheet of
paper;
In a brief written reflection, they will describe each type of motion represented in their collage.

Group Task 2:
MEDIA ANALYSIS
Learners are tasked to analyze a short video clip or animation that depicts motion.
They will identify and discuss how the media was produced, organized, and disseminated.
Considering aspects such as camera angles, editing, and sound effects.
Then, they will create a visual presentation (using slides or posters) summarizing their analysis.
And will conduct discussions on the different approaches and techniques used in the media they
analyzed.
Group Task 3:
MEDIA SOURCE EVALUATION
Learners are given various sources of motion information and media, such as articles, videos,
and animations. They will develop a set of selection criteria to evaluate the reliability and
validity of these sources.
In a written report, they will apply their criteria to analyze and rank the provided sources.
They will present their findings and engage in a critical discussion about the reliability of motion
information and media.
Extra Challenge: (GIFTED & TALENTED STUDENTS)
MOTION DESIGN PROJECT
Learners will create a short motion-based presentation using animation software or other creative
tools.
Emphasize the application of design
principles and elements (such as balance, contrast, and rhythm) to enhance the effectiveness of
their presentation.
They will discuss the creative use of design principles, clarity of motion representation, and
overall impact.
They will also reflect on how design choices contributed to the effectiveness of their
presentations and what they learned about the intersection of motion and design principles.
