'BeNHS arnisadors achieve 3 medals'

Arnisadors from the Benguet National Highschool (BeNHS) bagged a total of 1 gold and 2 bronze

medals at the Baguio Invitational Tournament on the 8th and 9th of October, 2022. The tournament

was held at Baguio City National Highschool.

There are 16 partcipants representing La Trinidad and 15 of them are students of BeNHS.

The team is mentored by Mr. Fedrico Ancheta. The tournament program started with the Flag

ceremony. Then the speaker explained the mechanics and rules which was followed with a prayer and

oath taking.

The tournament started on October 8, wherein the players competed in the "anyo", which is a

competition wherein all styles learned during training is applied. They also joined the "sparring" and

on October 9 the continuation of sparring and the awarding was held.

Even though all BeNHS students prrsevered in the competition, only three of them got medals. They

are Shem Anniban of Grade 11 HuMSS E, who got gold in sparing, Joy Ligmayo of Grade 10-L who

won bronze in anyo, and Zyra Claire Flores of Grade 8-J who got bronze in sparing.
