To upskills the participants on principles of design thinking as an innovative way on

Elementary School Teachers convened a SLAC session with the presence of Mathematics and
Science Teachers from grades 1-6. The session started by singing of National Anthem led by
Mrs. Elsie Alceso, a grade 5 teacher, it is followed by an opening prayer of Mrs. Racquel S.
Tamayo, a grade 3 Teacher. To inspire everyone through word of wisdom, Mrs. Ernielyn B.
Lucindo, reminded us to be always motivated, that we should not never give up but instead focus
on the goal which is to serve our pupils wholeheartedly. After that is the checking of attendance
done by Mrs. Eleonor S. Vasquez, a grade 1 teacher.

In line with this, Mr. Richard SM. Cruz, emphasized the concept of Empathize that is
understanding our learners in terms of their needs and possible reasons for not performing well
in different subject areas particularly in Science and Math. She also tackled about Define and
Ideate that focus on organizing data gathered from the pupils that will serve as basis in making
an intervention plan. On the second part of the program, Mrs. Angelica C. Castillo shared about
prototype and test construction based on the new standards. This activity aims to help teacher to
develop a teaching methods and approaches that aims to improve the performance of teachers.
In the end of SLAC session, Dr. Jovelyn S. Felix reminded all the teachers to make an
