Facilities Management

Bsba 2.1 B 7 Activity 01

1. What is/are the factor/s that affect/s the productivity of Globaltech’s employees?

The way the company used its space required some major adjustments. Similar to other large
firms, the revenue-generating divisions worked side by side with administrative divisions like
finance, legal, personnel resources, marketing, secretarial, and facilities management. These
support functions took up a lot of room, were mostly office-based, and operated mostly from
the same place.

2. How can Globaltech avoid the “Sick Building Syndrome” in their workplace?

By sacrificing some of this cellular space for more open-plan areas. Globaltech found that
increasing the intensity of use across large open-plan areas also required a modification of
behavior. Noise levels naturally increased in these situations, and minor irritations such as
leaving a mobile phone unattended soon became major issues.

3. How can Globaltech maximize employee productivity based on the design of their facility?

Standardize the workplace and develop best practices for workplace continuous improvement.
Each team member must implement the recognized best practices in their interactions with
coworkers. Such a large alteration inevitably puts more strain on the space's amenities and
physical characteristics.

4. How can Globaltech apply the concept of 5S in their workplace organization?

The biggest economies of the world are home to more than 200,000 employees of Globaltech.
Estimated yearly revenue is $16 billion, or 800 billion pesos, and its total area is eight (8) million
square feet, or 750,000 square meters. It is crucial for 5S to standardize workplace best
practices that are pertinent to ongoing workplace progress.
