CONNECTION DETAILS:

Connections are done in circuit. The A.C

supply is given both the input wires of the transformer
and the two ends of the secondary coil is given to the P
side of the two diodes and the N side of the diodes are
twined and then
connected to one end of the capacitor and the other
end to the center tap lead and to the resistor. Further,
the other end of capacitor with the diode connection is
connected to the other end of the resistor. Connect 2
leads on both the ends of the resistor to measure the
output and this is connected to the positive & negative
terminals of the bulb.

PROCEDURE
HALF WAVE RECTIFIER
AC supplied across primary coil(P) of step-down
transformer and the secondary coil(S) of transformer is
connected to diode and load resistance. The output DC
voltage is obtained across load resistance.
FULL WAVE RECTIFIER
AC is supplied across primary coil of step-down
transformer. P section of two diodes are connected to
secondary coil of transformer. Load resistance is
connected across N section of diode and center of
secondary coil. The DC output will be obtained at the
load resistance.

THEORY
The process of converting AC current into DC current is
known as Rectification.
The electrical device used to so is known as Rectifier.
The simple process of Rectification produces a type of
DC characterized by pulsating voltages and currents.
Depending upon the type of end-use, this type of DC
current may then be further modified into the type of
relatively constant voltage DC characteristically
produced by such sources as batteries and solar
cells.
