ABSTRACT:
This research paper presents the design and development of an automatic switch off extension
cord for charging Android phones. The proposed device aims to address the issue of
unnecessary power consumption by Android phones that are left plugged in and charged for
extended periods of time. The device is designed to automatically switch off the power
supply to the phone once it has reached a full charge, thereby reducing energy waste and
prolonging the lifespan of the battery.
The proposed device uses a combination of hardware and software components to achieve its
functionality. A microcontroller-based circuit is used to monitor the battery level of the phone
and control the power supply. The circuit is connected to the extension cord and can detect
when the phone is fully charged. Once the phone is fully charged, the circuit sends a signal to
the power supply unit to switch off the power from the extension cord.
