FADE IN:

EXT. DOCK - NIGHT

A murky, misty and moonlit scene. Thick, black water

rippling serenely. A lamp on the edge of the dock, casting
an eerie glow on the soaked wood surrounding.

A figure in a long coat suddenly drops into frame, onto his

knees, slamming down an object wrapped in STAINED CLOTH and
ROPE.

The figure is HADLEY, 30s, rugged, disheveled.

HADLEY (V.O.)
I have seen something, something in
my dreams. Nightmarish, but tangible.

EXT. MONTAGE -

Series of quick flashes of images, visions, dreams etc

- Hadley sinking in deep water

- Hadley opening his eyes underwater

- Tentacles crawling up the walls of Hadleys apartment

- Tentacles grabbing Hadleys foot on the dock

- Books, pages, drawings of hellish creatures

- Hadley looking behind him, extreme close up, Pearson

- Pearson standing on the dock alone

- A shot of the deep, black water

INT. HADLEYS APARTMENT - NIGHT

Hadley staring out his apartment window as rain beats down

on the glass. The room dimly lit and messy. Hadley has seen
better days.

HADLEY (V.O.)
There are creatures out there,
apathetic and unknowable. I hear them
at night. Whispers in the dark.
Something is out there, taunting me.

I need answers. I have to know what
haunts me.

EXT. DOCK - NIGHT

Hadley grabs a torch and aims it down at the OBJECT - he

then gets to his feet and checks around him frantically. He
returns his gaze to the OBJECT.

Hadley uncovers it - a stained and battered Jar containing a

cloudy substance in green liquid. Strange remnants float and
bob inside. It eminates a soft, green glow.

Hadley stares intensely and curiously at the jar, he strokes

and fondles it for a while before relenting - he gives in to
his urges and begins to unscrew the lid.

WOOSH! - The lid is blown off and out plumes a thick,

gaseous cloud in bright magenta/red.

Hadley looks up at the anomaly, perplexed and paralyzed with

curiosity. He waits for a moment before stretching out a
timid hand - WUTTUSKK - A TENTACLE snaps out from the thick
cloud and grasps Hadleys hand - CRUSHING it.

Hadley looks up in panic as two more tentacles grab an

ankle, and his neck. A breathe - forceful and horrible blows
Hadleys hat from his head and something emerges from the
vapor.

In the reflection of Hadleys eyes we see a MAW - two rows of

disgusting razor teeth emerge from the cloud and open.
Hadley starts to scream but -

The lid slams back onto the Jar and it rocks for a moment
before settling. Calmness.
