Theme: “Panagtigum: Pagbunyi sa mga Kakayahan at Talento ng mga Susunod na Guro”

PROGRAM SCHEDULE

PARTICIPANTS OF ACTIVITIES
The participants of the activity are students of Davao Central College under the College of
Education Liberal Arts (CELA) Department.
The students are formed into groups basing from their majors and their population.
 Group 1- TONDO- BTLE-HE
 Group 2- IBALON- BSED-English
 Group 3- SUGBO- BEED-Generalist, BSNEd, & BSED-Science
 Group 4- SULU- BSED-Mathematics & BSED-Social Studies
I. GENERAL GUIDELINES OF THE EVENT

The CELA students must FOLLOW the following guidelines of the event:

 All participants must be a bona fide college student of Davao Central College under the
College of Education and Liberal Arts (CELA) Department enrolled on the present semester
of the Academic Year 2022-2023;
 Participants must adhere to the guidelines and mechanics as implemented by the student
organization. Failure to do so will be subjected to disqualification;
 Each major/course/group is required to have participants in every segment of the event;
 Students are not deprived to participate in every activity but are encouraged to join any
segment.
 Each segment follows a Point system; The Point System is as follows:
1st Place - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 20 points
2nd Place - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -15 points
3rd Place - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 10 points
4th Place - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 5 points
 The department who gets the most points accumulated on all of the activities will be declared
as the Champion.
 Students should wear the proper attire required by the council during the day;
 The officers will not take heed of any lost during the event, participants must be responsible
enough of their valuable things;
 All students must adhere to the health and safety protocols indicated revised edition of the
DCC handbook such as observing proper decorum in order to maintain peace and harmony
within the school premises; and
 Further instructions not stated will be announced during the event proper.

II. MECHANISM OF THE ACTIVITY (before, during and after)

Before:
 The SEALS Officers will prepare all the needed materials for the event. (decorations,
certificates, awards, tokens, etc.)
 The SEALS officers will collaborate with the staff in charge of the stage, sound system,
lights, and other necessary equipment.
 Initial and Final Rehearsal will be done to organize the flow of the event.
 The students shall fill up their names and signed it for their attendance.
 Aside from the attendance, there will be a distribution of the DCC COVID-19 Health and
Safety Procedure Manual.

During:
 The program stars with the parade of the CELA students from the open field near the
Students’ Lounge to the DCC Gymnasium.
 The program and the activities commenced and are participated by different
representatives or participants of each group or barangay.
 The activities include: Laro ng Lahi (Palosebo, Baton Relay, Hilahan ng Lubid, Sack
Race, Chinese Garter, Kadang-Kadang, Agawan ng Buko); Poster Making; Quiz Bowl,
CELA Magpasikat!; and CELA Q&A.
 CELA students will be inside the premises of the school to participate and enjoy the
event.

After:
 The SEALS officers and CELA students will help in the restoration of the gymnasium.
 CELA students are required to fill up an evaluation form via Google Forms.
III. MECHANICS OF THE ACTIVITY

PALOSEBO

Mechanics:
1. Each barangay should have one (1) representative.
2. Each representative should stand first in the starting point, meters away from the bamboo
poles.
3. The game begins when the facilitator commands to start. The representatives will run
towards their bamboo pole and should start climbing it.
4. The first one to reach the top and retrieve the flag above will be declared as the winner.

BATON RELAY

Mechanics:
1. Each barangay should have six (6) representatives.
2. The representatives will be split into two (2) groups with three (3) members. Each of the
groups will form a line near their post, facing each other across the field.
3. The first person of the first group in the starting post will sprint across the field while
holding the baton. They need to reach the post of the second group and hand over the
baton to the first person of the second group.
4. Now, the first person from the second group will carry the baton, sprint across the field,
and hand it over to the second person from the first group. The same goes with the next
person being handed the baton until it reaches the very last person, which is the third
person of the second group.
5. The very last member of the group will sprint across the field while holding the baton
until they reach their post.
6. The barangay where all the members finish to relay the baton first will be declared as the
winner.

HILAHAN NG LUBID

Mechanics:
1. Each barangay should have ten (10) representatives.
2. Both teams should line up on their respective ends of the rope.
3. Each team gets on either side of the rope and tries to pull the other team across the
ground marker. When any body part of the other team crosses the line, the game is over
and the opposite team wins.
4. The team that gets pulled over the ground marker loses.
5. Representatives of Barangay Uno and Dos will face other first. Then, the next round will
be from Barangay Tres and Kwatro.
6. The winners of the game will have to compete in the Winner VS Winner round to
determine the overall champion of the game. Moreover, the losers of each round will
compete in the Loser VS Loser match to know the overall placement.

SACK RACE

Mechanics:
1. Each barangay should have ten (10) representatives.
2. The representatives will form a line away from their posts.
3. The first person in each the line will be the first participant of the race. The participant
will step inside the sack, heads out holding the sides of the sack by his both hands.
4. When the “GO” signal is given, they hop towards the post, go around it, and hop back to
their lines.
5. When they reach back to their line in the group, the next participants will follow doing
the same procedure until all of them in the group will be able to participate.
6. The first group to finish everything is declared as the winner of the game.

CHINESE GARTER

Mechanics:
1. Each barangay must have four (4) representatives.
2. The game needs all members of the group to successfully jump over the garter as it is
gradually held higher by the game posts.
3. All representative from each barangay will form one line before the garter. All of them
will go through or jump over it. Each member should pass over it successfully.
4. The member that fails to pass over the garter, would result to them being eliminated from
the group.
5. As the game progresses, each barangay would lose its members. In the end, the barangay
with the most remaining members wins the game.

KADANG-KADANG

Mechanics:
1. Each barangay must have seven (7) participants to play the game.
2. The game will begin once the facilitators have given the command to do so.
3. The players will have to race back and forth by means of the coconut shell.
4. The player should tap the hand of the next player in line to indicate his/her completion of
his/her part.
5. The current player will hand the coconut shell for the next player to use.
6. In case the coconut shell break, a replacement will be provided (depending on
availability) and the current player has to restart his/her leg of the race.
7. In case the facilitators run out of coconut shell, the team that finish the race first their
Kadang-Kadang will be used.
8. The team that finishes the race first will be announced as the winner.

AGAWAN NG BUKO

Mechanics:
1. Each barangay must have two (2) representatives to play the game. A total of eight (8)
players in the game.
2. The groups will form a circle from the center and inside the circle is the oil-covered
buko.
3. The game will start after the signal of the game official and begin to get or steal the from
the other groups.
4. Each of the group have their corresponding bases where they need to place the buko.
5. The member of the group who successfully steal the buko and place it on to their base
will win the round.
The group that wins at least two (2) rounds will be declared as the winner of this game.
Ang Plataporma: Public Speaking Contest

Mechanics:
1. Each group or barangay must have one (1) representative.
2. The representatives will be in a situation where they are politicians or public figures
stating their platforms to the public.
3. The content of their speech must include the issues and concerns of the Education Sector
and then, their platforms on how they are going to address and solve these issues and
concerns.
4. The speech shall be presented in no more than five (5) minutes. A signal will be
commanded signifying the last thirty (30) seconds.
5. The speech must be original.
6. Harsh remarks to the institution and offensive and discriminatory statements are
prohibited.
7. The speech shall be in English or Filipino.
8. The representative must wear formal attire: Barong or Filipiniana.
9. The content of the speech shall be submitted first before the day of the event. Deadline of
the submission is on January 9, 2023.
10. The criteria for the Public Speaking Contest would be as follows:

Content (Accuracy of data, originality)- 35%


Manner (Gestures and facial expression)- 30%
Style (Delivery of speech, clarity)- 20%
Mechanics (Enunciation and Intonation)- 15%

SEALS QUIZ BOWL

MECHANICS

1. Each group or barangay must consist of four (4) members or representative. The four
groups or barangays of four players will compete against each other.
2. The questions are about PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION.
3. The game has three different sets. These are the three level of difficulty: easy, moderate,
and difficult.
4. Each round/level consists of respective points per correct answer:
 Easy Round= 1 point
 Moderate Round= 3 points
 Difficult Round= 5 points
5. Each round is consisting of 10 questions.
6. Players will only be given 15 seconds to answer the question. In the event that the player
failed to raise the board before the time, their answers will be automatically null and
void.
In case there will be a tie, the game moderator will have a tie breaker and prepared a different
set of questions.
CELA MAGPASIKAT!

Mechanics:
1. Each barangay must have a representative who will perform on the event. Any
performance may do. The number of participants may range from 2-15 members.
2. You may showcase a dance number, song number, play or a combination of talents, and
etc.
3. An allotted time of 3 minutes minimum and a maximum of 7 minutes presentation.
Preparation for presentation is included in the time allotted for each performer.
4. Props and costume are allowed, depending on your performance.
5. Use of fire, pyrotechnics, dangerous stunts (i.e., lifting), foul language, discriminatory
and offensive gestures are strictly prohibited.
6. The decision of the judges is final and irrevocable.
7. Performers who will not abide with the mechanics provided, shall be disqualified.

CELA Q&A

Mechanics:
1. Participants must be currently enrolled in Davao Central College and a member of
Society of Education and Liberal Arts Students (SEALS).
2. The contest is OPEN to ALL GENDER INDENTITIES.
3. There shall be two (2) representatives from each group/barangay. A total of eight (8)
contestants.

INTRODUCTION
The competition starts as candidates enter the stage one by one. The candidates
are given the chance to introduce themselves and give their motto or comedic proverbs
which they “believe” in.

ELIMINATION ROUND
The two (2) candidates from each barangay will have to face each other first.
Each barangay will have its turns for this round. The candidates will be asked to state the
things listed under a given category. Examples of categories can be types of desserts,
kinds of sea creatures, national heroes, etc. They each take turns in stating the things.
They need to answer quickly and should be appropriate under the given category. The
host may do a five (5) seconds countdown for the candidate to answer. Unable to answer
on time or stating an unrelated answer from the category will result to elimination. The
remaining candidate will proceed to the next round.

DEBATE ROUND
There are now four (4) candidates remaining, one (1) in each barangay. In this
round, the candidates will be challenged through a debate. The candidate from the first
barangay will have to face the candidate from the second barangay; the same with the
candidates from the third and fourth barangay. The side or position that they are going to
defend will be assigned to them and it will be revealed later after the question is given.
Each candidate will take turns to defend their side. They will be given three turns to
express their points and, in each turn, they are given fifteen (15) seconds to speak, for a
total of ninety (90) seconds.
In deciding the winner of the round, the chairman of the panel of judges will
declare the winning candidate based from the discussion and decision of all the judges.

FINAL ROUND
The remaining two (2) candidates will be challenged in the final round of
questioning. In this round, a single, serious question are asked to both the candidates.
They are given forty-five (45) seconds to answer the question. The candidate that gives
the best answer (basing from the rubrics) is declared as the CELA Q&A 2022 winner.

4. The use of inappropriate, vulgar, and offensive words is STRICTLY PROHIBITED.


5. The contestants are expected to be in their pageant outfit, as long as it is appropriate (not
too revealing or sexy).
6. The decision of the judges is final and irrevocable.
