SUB-TOPICS: Attributes of Discipline.
OBJECTIVES:i. Define and Explain Discipline.
ii. State and Explain Attributes of Discipline.

CONTENT:
DISCIPLINE
Discipline is one of the most important values in the
society. It is a controlled behavior that results from training people to
obey rules and regulations. It also means the ability to exercise self-
control in behavior, work, life, etc.
Discipline could mean punishment from disobedience of rules
and regulations and also used to refer to an area of knowledge or
subject taught in the university.
Discipline enables us to be orderly, controlling the way we
behave and do things we should do without being forces. The absence
of discipline brings about woes in the society e.g. corruption,
dishonesty, etc.

ATTRIBUTES OF DISCIPLINE
1. SELF-CONTROL: This is the ability of a person to control his/her
behavior, feelings, etc.
2. MODERATION: The state of being reasonable and not been too
extreme.
3. PERSEVERANCE:The quality of striving hard to succeed in the face
of obstacles.
4. MODESTY: The act of not being too proud or too confident about
yourself or your abilities.
5. DEDICATION: The act of being willing and ready to make sacrifice
in order to achieve something that is important.
6. Respect for Rules and Regulations.
7. Respect for Legitimate Authorities.
