APPOINTMENT OF SCAFFOLD

16. (1) A contractor must appoint a competent person in writing who must
ensure that all scaffolding work operations are carried out under his or
her supervision and that all scaffold erectors, team leaders and
inspectors are competent to carry out their work.
(2) A contractor using access scaffolding must ensure that such
scaffolding, when in use, complies with the safety standards
incorporated for this purpose into these Regulations under section 44 of
the Act.

I, Lindokuhle Sixhaso the appointed Construction Regulation 8(1) competent person with
the duty of ensuring that all scaffolding work operations complies with the prescribed safety
standard and with the duty of ensuring that all scaffold erectors, team leaders and inspectors
are competent to carry out their work, of LULWORTH BUILDING SERVICES
hereby appoint Tafadzwa Munaku
with the duty as contemplated above for work operations at the project, THE PROVISION OF
MOBILE UNITS OF CLASSROOMS AND INFRASTRUCTURE AT NONKQUBELA SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL ON
BEHALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION
for the duration of the project/contract or until you are relocated to another site/project or
leave the employ of the company. The appointee is further charged with ensuring that all
contractors on site comply with any measures instituted to ensure safe scaffolding work, and
is being reminded that you are required to be conversant with all relevant statutory
provisions and regulations of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (85 of 1993) in the
regard to carry out of construction work.
