1. Remove the point sheave. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Point Sheave - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.

2. Use a suitable lifting device and Tooling (B) in shaft (19) to position point sheave (1) on suitable cribbing. Point sheave (1) weighs
approximately 3525 kg (7772 lb).

3. Remove bolts (2) and the washers. Use a suitable lifting device to remove retainer (3). Retainer (3) weighs approximately 71 kg (157 lb).

4. Remove shims (4).

5. Install suitable cribbing under shaft (19) before the top retainer is removed.

6. Remove bolts (7) and the washers.

7. Use a suitable lifting device to remove retainer (8). Retainer (8) weighs approximately 71 kg (157 lb).

8. Remove lip seal (9) and O-ring seal (10) from retainer (3).

9. Repeat step 8 for retainer (8).

10. Use a suitable lifting device and Tooling (B) to remove shaft (19), the bearing, and the bearing retainers from point sheave (1). Shaft (19), the
bearing, and the bearing retainers weigh approximately 1010 kg (2227 lb).

11. Position shaft (19), the bearing, and the bearing retainers in a horizontal position on a suitable surface.

12. Remove bolts (13). Use a suitable lifting device to remove bearing retainer (14). Bearing retainer (14) weighs approximately 45 kg (99 lb).
Remove O-ring seal (12) and shims (11).

13. Remove bolts (15). Use a suitable lifting device to remove bearing retainer (16). Bearing retainer (16) weighs approximately 45 kg (99 lb).
Remove O-ring seal (17).

14. Remove shaft (19) from bearing (18). Shaft (19) weighs approximately 703 kg (1560 lb).
