Activity 1

My return to Colombia from Australia

My name is Yeison Rodriguez and I am an industrial engineer. After working in Australia for several
years I decided to return to Colombia to continue my professional career. During my stay in
Australia I had the opportunity to work in a chemical company where I gained experience in
industrial engineering.

I have worked on projects related to process improvement, implementation of security measures

and improvement of operational efficiency. I also developed leadership and teamwork skills by
collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

During my stay in Australia I visited places like Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. I enjoyed the
view of the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbor Bridge in Sydney. In Melbourne, I
explored the city's famous avenues and cafes. In Brisbane I enjoyed the beautiful beaches and
tropical climate. I stayed in hotels and apartments during my stay in different cities. These places
were quiet and peaceful. I met amazing people during my time in Australia and made lifelong
friends, as well as my co-workers and local residents who helped me adapt. I tried Australian
dishes like fish and chips, meat pie and vegetables. I also appreciated the international cuisine
offered in the restaurants of the cities visited.

In summary, my experience in Australia as an industrial engineer in a chemical company was rich. I

also had the opportunity to visit interesting places, meet interesting people and try the delicious
foods and drinks that the country has to offer.
