Outcome reflection #9:

1. What parts of the writing process did you focus on while creating
this assignment? Were you in the brainstorming process, the
drafting process, or the editing/proofreading process?
2. Were you focusing on linguistic aspects of your writing (what kinds
of words you use, your writing style, etc) or was it rhetorical ones
(why you made certain decisions, what audience you are writing
for, what the purpose of your writing is, etc.)?
3. Did the artifact ask you to write about the writing process, or did
you learn something about writing processes while creating this
assignment or doing this activity?

During this point of ENC 1101 we had to do a reading response activity and answer questions
over that week’s reading and one of the readings was Lamott’s “Shitty First Drafts” I think
reading that piece of work helped me focus on different parts of my writing process during that
draft. It allowed me to focus on the drafting process heavily and realize that it doesn’t have to be
perfect but that I do need to get my point across. It allowed me to learn a valuable lesson on the
writing process, you must always think about what process is coming ahead and how previous
processes can impact or influence it. It is almost like a spiderweb every line connects to increase
the overall strength of the web, and the writing process works the same way.
