This document introduces the new layout


of Service Bulletins issued by Wärtsilä
Services 2-stroke.
Information to all Owners and Operators of
Wärtsilä RTA or RT-flex engines Purpose of Service Bulletins is to keep
Customers up-to-date with latest
information about Wärtsilä products and
solutions.

Service Bulletin Categories


Service Bulletins are categorised by
different types according to their purpose.
A complete list of Service Bulletins types is
provided herein.

Action Code
Besides the new layout, also the concept
of “Action Code” is introduced.

Distribution
The distribution scope and channels stay
unchanged. The title page of each Service
Bulletin lists the products concerned.

Wärtsilä Services 2-stroke will issue the documents in a new layout. Basic
elements of the new layout are described below.

Service Bulletin Categories


The following table lists the different categories of Service Bulletin. Categories
can be recognised by the colour of the title page header (1).

Service A temporary instruction with requests or recommendations for

Bulletin is proposed
Instructions Additional or amended instructions related to modification work,
operation or maintenance

The term “Service Bulletin” describes the type of publication. Each document is
also a member of a separate category, defined by its purpose.

Document Numbering and Issue


Service Bulletins for Wärtsilä low-speed engines are labelled with the document
number (2) consisting of the prefix “RT-“ followed by a sequential number. The
revision of the document can be identified by the Issue and the date of that
document issue.

Action Code
A new element is the Action Code (3) which facilitates the judgement of the
matters’ urgency. Introduced action codes are (highest priority on top):

The action code is located in the header row of the info box (4), on the title page
of the document.

Distribution
The distribution of the document is depending on the addressed topic. Service
Bulletins will be published only to those Customers owning / operating products
concerned by it (5). A document category does not imply the distribution scope.

Note:
The introduction of these categories, the action code and the new layout do not
affect the existing distribution policy.
