TASK 1 – FASHION SHOW

Last Sunday, I went to a fashion show at Berjaya Times Square shopping centre.
The organizer and fashion designers presented new spring collections. They were gorgeous.
I couldn’t take my eyes off of all designs. They were all equally fantastic and fashionable.
The collections were young designers work of arts.
I was lucky I arrived early at the venue. There were lots of VIPs and photographer
from media and newspapers. The area was crowded with the audience and people who
were invited to the event too. There was not enough seat to sit. Some of the photographers
sat on the floor and they seemed to be alright. Finally, a long wait for the show to start came
to the end. The lighting effects was perfect as the models elegantly moving on the catwalk.
The crowd gave a big round of applause to the models and designers. At the end of the
show, the audience were served with tea and sandwiches before the headed out.
As a fashion designer student myself, I made evaluation on the event when I was
home. As I said earlier, the lighting effects was perfect. But the flashing colours something
did not suitable because it dimed the models’ outfits. There were moments of total darkness
too. The crowd seemed to be lost and did not understand what happened. There was
moment too, there was glowing light on the floor too. The sport light should be on the outfit
so that crowd and judges could see the details. Overall, the show was still splendid.
I was fascinating to see young designers’ ideas. I want to be like that one day too.
The event also a great opportunity for me and other designers to meet VIPs in this arena.
Everything was great but the organization of the event was slightly poor because of the
controversial lighting effects. Generally, the event was interesting but the organizer could do
better next time.
All in all, the whole event was a success. For the improvement for the next event, the
organizer should hire professional people in handling the lighting and hire experienced event
manager to manage the seat, food and invitation. Therefore, the event would be more
manageable and meaningful for everyone.
