The document is a student's reaction paper to the path-goal theory. It summarizes that the path-goal theory states that a leader's behavior should be contingent on motivating and helping employees achieve their goals in a way that also allows the organization to achieve its goals. The leader's job is to guide employees and provide direction and support to make sure individual and organizational goals are compatible. The theory also assumes leaders can change their style depending on the situation.

REACTION TO PATH GOAL THEORY
The path-goal theory states that a leader’s behavior is contingent to the satisfaction, motivation and performance of their employees. The manager’s job is viewed as guiding workers to choose the best paths to reach both their goals as well as the corporation’s goals. In this theory the leader’s job is to assist followers in attaining goals and to provide the direction and support needed to ensure that their goals are compatible with the organization’s goals. Path–goal theory assumes that leaders are flexible and that they can change their style, as situations require.
