Hello, this is Samuquela again. Let me tell you about my favorite singer, Lizha James. Lizha
James is a Mozambican singer. She lives in Maputo, the capital of Mozambique. She sings in
Portuguese, Changana and English. Lizha James is a member of the Bang Entertainment
Band. This band has many singers, but my favourite is Lizha. She won many International
video awards. In 2001, she won the channel O award and a year later she won another one in
Nigerian TV station.

Her songs are much appreciated because of their message. In her songs, she e tries to report
Mozambican daily social life. In her songs she criticizes, educates, warns and entertains in a
very interesting way. For example, In one of her songs, Lizha criticizes people that despite
others just because they were lucky enough to go to university. Many people like this song
because they understand what she is talking about. She talks about the truth!

One of her best songs was released in 2007. It is “Nita Mukuma Kwini” which is many
discos, radio and television stations is like a national anthem. Everywhere you go, people
listen to it. The rhythm, the message and song itself are wonderful.
. ‘’ Nita Mukuma Kwini’’ is a song that can have different interpretations according to the
social background, age and marital status and listeners. ‘’ “Nita Mukuma Kwini” in
Changana, the language spoken In Maputo and Gaza Provinces, means where can you find a
faithful, honest, good friend/partner these days? Stick to the ones you have!!!
