In June 1996, an experimental flu vaccine was trialled in a large country town on females only.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features.

The charts show the number of death from flu, the rates of flu cases, and what patients are most at risk from
flu, during a vaccine distribution for females in a country town in June 1996.
Overall, it can be seen that flu infections among women did not decline despite the vaccine. Also, more
females were affected by the disease than men.
As the bar chart suggests, only one female died from flu between March and May 1996. However, the figure
rosed to 2 male and 4 female deaths throughout the 2-month span since the vaccine was issued.
According to the line graph, both male and female infections rose sharply from the beginning of the year
until June, when there were 3500 female cases and around 2600 male cases. By December, the number of
female cases declined to roughly 2500, which was 1000 more than male cases.
After receiving the vaccine, 35% of women at risk were over 65 years old. Those who were babies or
children, as well as those who were hospitalized were less vulnerable, at 24% and 13% respectively. Also, 28%
were yet to be given the vaccine.
