2.5 General Configuration Notes

When configuring a Stargate SG·1 installation, there are a few things
to consider:

2.5.1 Configuration USB Flash Drive

The configuration USB flash drive contains a customer specific
game configuration that is predetermined during order processing.
Depending on the configuration presets and jurisdiction the menu
settings might be adjustable. If you want to change any of the pre-
determined settings, please contact your local sales representative.

To perform an initial setup configuration the configuration USB flash

drive is mandatory! The configuration USB flash drive is connected
to one of the USB ports located at the logic box.

2.5.2 Initial Setup – Game Configuration

The game configuration settings are predetermined during or-
der processing and cannot be changed. If you want to (or have to)
change any of the predetermined settings, please contact your local
sales representative.

2.5.3 Progressive Calculation

The Stargate SG·1 progressive parameters are calculated by means
of the Progressive Calculation Sheet. To ensure proper configuration
the progressive calculation parameters are predetermined during or-
der processing and cannot be changed. If you want to change any of
the predetermined jackpot parameters (e.g. Start Value, JP Limits,
etc), please contact your local sales representative for a recalculation.

2.5.4 Jackpot Handpays

The threshold level for jackpot handpays is determined by the Cel-
ebration Limit setting. A win that exceeds this limit will trigger a jack-
pot handpay. See also chapter 5, section 5.2 Celebration Limit or the
relevant software manual.

COM Ports Display Port LAN Port VGA

Mains Input HDMI CMOS Reset USB Ports Audio Out

• Media Controller Location

The location of the media controller depends on the cabinet
type of the Stargate SG·1 link.

• In SPIELO OXYGEN™ (Upright) cabinets the media con-

troller is located in the top box.
• In SPIELO OXYGEN™ SLANT cabinets the media con-
troller is located in the hopper drawer area.

The environmental temperature must not exceed

40°C / 104°F.

STARGATE SG·1™ – Setup and Configuration 15

3. Hardware Setup

3.2.2 Connect Signage

The media controller provides a DisplayPort, HDMI and VGA port
to connect the signage to the media controller. The display cable,
audio cable and signage mains cable is usually threaded through one
of the posts that hold the signage.

The overhead display(s) which are connected to the media control-

ler have to support a 1024 x 768 pixel display resolution at 60 Hz with
highest (32 bit) color quality.

• Thread the display cable, audio cable and signage mains cable
through one of the posts that holds the signage.

• Connect the overhead display to the DisplayPort, VGA and/or

HDMI connector.
Note: You can use up to two ports simultaneously to connect a
second display. With two displays connected to the media con-
troller make sure to set the WINDOWS® screen resolution option
«Multiple displays» to «Duplicate these displays».

• Connect the signage audio cable to the audio out jack.

3.2.3 Connect Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS)

Caution : A power outage or voltage peak can cause seri-
ous damage to the media controller hardware and software!
Do not operate a media controller without having a prop-
erly configured UPS connected!

The UPS device application comes pre-installed with the media

controller. For detailed information please see chapter 3, section 3.4
Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS).

• Connect the mains cable to the media controller.

• Connect the USB cable to one of the USB ports of the media
controller.

3. Hardware Setup

3.2.4 Connect Network Switch

The Stargate SG·1 link infrastructure is based on an ethernet net-
work. The media controller and all participating gaming machines are
connected to the network switch.

Use the 2m (67500533) patchcable to connect the media controller

to the network switch.

• Connect the patchcable to the LAN port of the media control-

ler.

• Connect the patchcable to one of the LAN ports of the network
