1. Introduction
1.1 Scope
This document describes how to set up and configure a Fruit CON-
NECTION™ link. It describes how to set up the participating gaming
machines and how to link them.
Please read this document carefully before you start the setup, to
avoid incorrect configuration.

2. Overview
2.1 Preface
Fruit Connection is another addition to our successful library of multi
level, multi game, multi hit progressive links. The two support titles
are available as multi-game suite on the SPIELO OXYGEN™ cabi-
net family.
• Multi Level
Fruit Connection comes with four progressive jackpot level
(ROYAL, GRAND, MAJOR and MINOR).
• Multi Game
Fruit Connection comes with a multi game suite offering two
game titles:
Gameselector
• Multi Hit
Win up to four (instead of one out of four) progressive jackpot
level in the Fruit Connection Jackpot Bonus feature.
All Fruit Connection games provide a 6th reel located in the upper 6th Reel
(inactive)
right corner of the base screen. The 6th reel is randomly triggered
during game play and offers the possibility to trigger the Fruit Con-
nection Jackpot Bonus.
When the 6th reel is inactive it shows the available jackpot free spins 6th Reel
(inactive)
(number of extra spins that are awarded if a Fruit Connection Jack-
pot Bonus session is started). The number of awarded jackpot free
spins is equal to the selected bet per line. The higher the selected bet

per line the better the chances to win multiple progressive jackpots. =

When the 6th reel is triggered, you have the chance of winning the
Fruit Connection Jackpot Bonus.
The Fruit Connection symbol on reels 1 & 2 in one spin awards the
MINOR jackpot level, win additional progressive jackpot level for
each Fruit Connection symbol on adjacent reels.

2.3.2 Merchandising
Fruit Connection features an exciting merchandising and signage
package that stands out on the casino floor and attracts players to
its thrilling four level dynamic bonus link. Customized signage and
merchandising options are available to suit every venue and budget.

3.2.1 General
The media controller is a customized barebone-PC that provides
video animations and jackpot values which are displayed on the over-
head display(s).
• Thread the display cable, audio cable and signage mains cable
through one of the posts that holds the signage.
• Connect the USB cable to one of the USB ports of the media
controller.

The UPS device application comes pre-installed with the media con-
troller and is configured to shut down the media controller 5 minutes
after a power outage has been detected.

• Connect the USB cable (c) to one of the USB ports of the me-
dia controller.
4. Software Setup
4.1 Star|JACKPOTS2
This chapter describes all necessary configuration steps to setup
a Fruit Connection jackpot controller. For more detailed informa-

The Star|JACKPOTS application that is delivered with a Fruit Con-
nection link is customized and supports IGT SGP progressive jack-
pot controller only!
• On the logon page enter your user name and password (default
user name and password = adm).
• Make sure to set a unique «Jackpot Name» in the General tab for each link concept!
• Do NOT assign gaming machines to the Line Dancer, Hot & Wild and Doggie Cash jackpot controller in the
Gaming Machine Selection tab!
• Do NOT activate the Line Dancer, Hot & Wild and Doggie Cash jackpot controller! Doing so, with gaming
machines assigned, will lock the assigned gaming machines.
The Controller ID shows you at all time where you are during the configuration procedure:

1/4 = Fruit Connection (FC)
2/4 = Line Dancer (LD)
3/4 = Doggie Cash (DC)
4/4 = Hot & Wild (C2)
1. Select the Jackpots tab and click Configuration on the navigation bar to enter the jackpot con-
figuration page.
3. Click Browse and select the required progressive_configuration.xml file and the progres-
sive_configuration.xml.sig signature file.
Important : The configuration files are unique for each Fruit Connection link, make sure that the con-
figuration files used for the jackpot controller and the gaming machines are identical.
The configuration files can be found on the USB flash drive that is included in the linked gaming kit. Copy
the configuration files from the USB flash drive to D:\Program Files\SPIELO International
Austria GmbH\EGD-GD - Fruit Connection on the media controller.
4. General
Fruit Connection is a spin-off of IGT´s multi link Action Jackpots. The «Create new Jackpot Controller»
procedure reflects this origin. There are four jackpot controller created by the same configuration file during a
single «Create new Jackpot Controller» procedure, even though only the Fruit Connection jackpot controller
is used. The Controller ID shows you at all time where you are during the configuration procedure.
Important : Make sure to set a unique «Jackpot name» (32 characters maximum) for each link con-
cept! Recommendation: Enter the link concept name as Jackpot name (e.g. Controller ID 1/4 = Fruit
Connection).
The Jackpot ID is set by default to Automatically create jackpot ID. The Jackpot ID is randomly
generated by the system. To define a specific Jackpot ID clear the check box and enter a unique ID number.

5. Messages
Do not enter any text!
To assign a single gaming machine double click on the name. To assign all listed gaming machines click Se-
lect All.
All gaming machines that are listed in the Assigned box will participate in the jackpot.
Important : Do NOT assign gaming machines to the Line Dancer, Hot & Wild and Doggie Cash
jackpot controller!
7. Summary
On this page a configuration summary is displayed. Verify all settings and click Save to proceed with the jack-
pot controller configuration. Repeat step 1 to 7 until all four jackpot controllers are configured and click Save
to finish the jackpot controller configuration.
The jackpot controllers are configured but not activated (State: InWork), the gaming machines are still
locked. To activate the Fruit Connection jackpot controller see chapter 4, section 4.1.3 Activate Jackpot Con-
troller.
Recommendation: Delete the Line Dancer, Hot & Wild and Doggie Cash jackpot controller to avoid any confu-
sion. See chapter 4, section 4.1.7 Delete Jackpot Controller.
Important : Do NOT activate the Line Dancer, Hot & Wild and Doggie Cash jackpot controller! Doing
so, with gaming machines assigned, will lock the assigned gaming machines.
• Click Configuration on the navigation bar to enter the Jackpot Configuration page.
• A jackpot controller summary is displayed, click Activate to start the jackpot controller.
• The Fruit Connection jackpot controller is activated (State: Accepted) and all participating gaming
machines are unlocked and operational.
When the jackpot controller has been edited the State changes to InWork. To apply the modifications
to the operational gaming machines activate the jackpot controller again, see chapter 4, section 4.1.3 Activate
Jackpot Controller.
Important : If you activate an edited jackpot controller the currently running instance of the jackpot is
stopped. A new instance based on the edited configuration is started. The current jackpot level values
are restored to the base values determined by the progressive_configuration.xml file!
To restore the former jackpot level values see chapter 4, section 4.1.8 Edit Progressive Jackpot Values
and 4.1.9 Edit Hidden Jackpot Values.
Note: If a new jackpot controller is created, you have to update the Progressive Config XML setting in the
Fruit Connection – Config GUI, see chapter 4, section 4.2.1.2 Base Settings.
Important : An active jackpot controller cannot be deleted, you have to suspend the jackpot controller first!
For a detailed procedure see chapter 4, section 4.1.6 Suspend Jackpot Controller.
• Click Configuration on the navigation bar to enter the Jackpot Configuration page.
• A jackpot controller summary is displayed on the Delete Jackpot page, enter a reason for deletion and
click OK.
• Click Jackpot Value Correction to enter the Jackpot Value Correction page for
each jackpot level separately.
• The jackpot level information is displayed. Enter the amount (in currency) that must be added to the current
jackpot value and the reason for the jackpot value correction.
• Click Hidden Jackpot Value Correction to enter the Hidden Jackpot Value Cor-
rection page for each jackpot level separately.
• The hidden jackpot level information is displayed. Enter the amount (in currency) that must be added to the
current hidden value and the reason for the jackpot value correction.
• Select General Settings from the navigation bar and click Displayed Machine Names.
The Machine ID column lists all gaming machines that are participating in the configured jackpot controller.
• Enter in the Displayed Name column a comprehensible name for each gaming machine to be displayed
on the overhead display.
• ALF
Enable the ALF (ATRONIC Linked Feature) controller to es-
tablish communication between the EGD_GD display applica-
tion and the jackpot engine.
• Default
Load default settings.
• Undo
Undo changes.
• Save
Save settings.
• Start
Start Fruit Connection display animation.
• Info
Display application software version.
• Cancel
Close application without saving settings.
• Ok
Close application with saving settings.
• Currency code
Enter a currency abbreviation (up to 3 digits) to be displayed
trailing or leading the jackpot value. To enter a «€» currency
symbol use the ASCII string 0128.
Note: To enter an ASCII code press and hold the Alt key. Type
the ASCII string (e.g. 0128 for «€») on the number pad and re-
lease the Alt key.
• Currency position
Define the position of the currency code. Select Trailing or
Leading from the drop down menu.
• Decimal separator
Define the decimal separator, enter «.» or «,».
• Thousand separator
Define the thousand separator, enter «.» or «,».
The configuration files can be found on the USB flash drive that
is included in the linked gaming kit. Copy the configuration files
from the USB flash drive to D:\Program Files\SPIELO

Set a unique asset number for each gaming machine if a TiTo envi-
ronment is in operation or to activate AFT functionality.
Set the «Celebration Limit Mode» to «Individual fixed limit for each
game» (default and recommended setting) during the initial setup
procedure. The limits are set by the paytable and cannot be changed.
To display the fixed limit values touch the Show Details button.
Note: The ticket data fields are usually configured remotely by the
ticket host sending SAS poll 7D «send ticket data». Ticket data sent by
the host has priority over manually entered ticket data.
